The campain for blue sky in games has launched. Not Blue Sky Martinis, ya lushes—the good, wholesome kind of blue sky, the kind of blue sky that floats above one's head and signals that everything is right in the world.
Why do we need blue skies in games? Here's a quote from the official compaign literature:
Games need BLUE SKIES! Games need BRIGHT YELLOW SUNS! Games need RED AND BLUE THINGS in them! We want to play in a HAPPY PRETEND LAND, not a shit version of an American slum full of mixed-race gangsters wearing licensed sportswear!
Those are strong words, but perhaps the shadow organization behind this initiative is on to something. As gamers age, games have gotten darker and have featured more mature themes. But sometimes we all yearn to curl up on the couch and return to pure, innocent fun. Fun with blue skies. Like this.
