Starting today,
Toys R' Us of Japan will be selling a Gold Nintendo DS. No word on a US release as of yet, but you can expect

Can you ever have too much color?

"Can you ever have too much color?"
Nope. We have 32 million colors on our monitors and I don't know any that have complained. =0
...wouldn't it be cool if the DS came out in 32 million different colors?

Until they come out with a redesign, I don't think many people will care much about the new colors.

Wasn't the gold iPod mini the least popular, and the only colour dropped when the 2nd gen minis were released?

They should have bundled a golden DS with a new Zelda for it.

OTAM @ Dec 18th 2005 9:02PM
I HATE the color gold. I think it's so gaudy looking.
I am perfectly happy with my electric blue DS :)
Decalgirl.com has some BADASS vinyl for your DS,I think i'm going to pick one up soon.

I was very happy with my limited edition gold controller for Nintendo 64, and I think my platinum GameCube looks terrific. A gold DS might look a little gaudy, but thank you Nintendo for making it. It's all about choices, right?

I guess they're releasing Nintenhos with this one so I can really feel like a pimp with my DS.

Pointless release as this design style of the nintendo DS comes to the end of it's life.
Redesign on the way soon-ish, that's what i'll be getting.
Nintendo never stay still with designs.. lame boy advance, then the game boy SP, then tribal editions.. then all the limited edition ones that came with a game: the DS wont be an exception..

#4 you stole my phrase!!!!! (j/k)
But I second the Bling Bling and if there was some fake C.Z.'s on (or around) the buttons it would be a must have.

Um, wha?

Wow, you people are blowing the "Nintendo DS redesign" comments way out of proportion. It's not coming out relatively soon-ish, it won't come out until late-ish 2006 at the very earliest - and Nintendo might not want to release it then, as it might compete with the Revolution for holiday sales (granted, both the GBA and the GC launched in 2001, but that didn't turn out so well for the GC, now, did it?). I don't see why one would wait until 2006, 2007 for a marginally improved version of a $129 handheld. Further, I'm not sure why Nintendo's half-confirmation that a "DS SP" was somewhat in development would cause people to decide to wait - it's not like we didn't already know a redesigned version of the DS would be on the way.

*waiting for the red "mario kart edition" DS to arrive in the mail*
What you guys need are sons and younger siblings, whenever theres a new Ipod/Gameboy, they get my old one as a free gift, noone's ever complained of getting an Ipod/gameboy,
and they make easy practice opponents for prepping up your Mario Kart skills before going online.
The redesigns come when the technology is avaliable, live with it already
;-)
Spence @ Dec 18th 2005 9:02PM
yeah that does actually make sense.. it's not like nintendo are moving at the pace of apple with iPods.
i think i'll pay for the mario kart version of the DS.. they wont lose their value significantly.. even second hand with the game they're worth 70 or so in good nick.. that's 30 loss for a whole lot of online mario kart lovin'
w00t w00t mario kart is gonna OWN!
