PC snobs shudder at the thought of Half-Life 2 being ported over to the aging
Xbox hardware. But for others, less fortunate, it's an opportunity to play the critically acclaimed sequel on a low
budget, even if it's a stripped down version of the original. And somehow, Valve has performed a not-so-small miracle,
porting over the single-player campaign "right down to the last spattered droplets of alien blood" (GamePro). To
be fair, the Xbox version lacks the extensive multiplayer and mod-making features of its PC forbearer. But still, we're
willing to bet that Half-Life 2 will give any of the Xbox 360 launch titles a run for its money—and yes,
it's compatible with the next-gen console.

2 thoroughly impressed, 1 "underwhelmed":
-
GameSpy (100/100) - "[There] is no other like Half-Life 2 for the Xbox, which has now become my all-time favorite title for the system, and a massively strong contender for the Xbox game of the year."
-
IGN (94/100) - "The story itself is worth of great praise, but the way it's implemented into the gameplay, along with the amazingly fresh missions that all blend into one another, make this easily one of the best games on Xbox this year, if not the best."
-
GameSpot (83/100) - "A bit underwhelming."
