Granny gamer unleashes torrent of profanity

When my grandmother's arthritis curled her fingers inwards it created, as if by serendipity, the perfect grip to
hold a Game Boy with… and hold she did! It became such a rarity to see her without her GB and Bugs Bunny
Crazy Castle that we discussed putting it in her coffin at the wake. For a long time she was always my idea of a
"gaming granny". That is, until I heard about Barbara St. Hilaire, aka Old Grandma Hardcore. (A word to the wise:
DO NOT do a Google image search hoping to get pictures of the "Old Grandma Hardcore", you'll just get pictures
of old hardcore grandmas.)
We've covered her
before at Joystiq, but this video reveals that she really
is a serious gamer. This isn't DS Brain Training,
but Doom 3, Psychonauts, and Resident Evil 4. She even has the elusive Chicago
Typewriter on her third go-round of RE4! That's hardcore! OGHC also cusses like a sailor, talking
trash like a 14 year-old on Xbox Live.
I'll end with the sign-off from a previous post: Joystiq salutes you, Old Grandma Hardcore. May we all be gaming like
you when we reach our twilight years.

Joystiq has been very cool to Grandma ever since we started this thing. We didn't know what to expect when MTV came out to film; we figured it would be just a short bit about Grandma playing The Suffering Ties That Bind, maybe; but then they laid it on us (which is why the video ends so abruptly, it's a teaser): They offered Grandma a job. Grandma now reviews games for the very show she was premiered on, The G-Hole. They gave her an XBox Debug and a ton of games to start...
Man, she's ENJOYING life at the moment :)
Game on. Thank you guys.

Does anyone else have the desire to stick her foot in your mouth? Or is it just me?

Chicago Typewriter rules. =)
I'm 1/2 way through 2nd playthrough and I hope I can buy the IRL before I finish this 2nd playthrough...

She didn't like the IRL as much, only because it made boss fights easy.
Now the HANDCANNON... that brought the fun back into the fourth time through :)
She's playing RE4 for the PS2 now to see the difference. I think she likes the GC version better, to be honest.

I am 54 and got hooked on Wolfenstein when it first came out. Love PC gaming. A great way to keep your hands limber, your brain alive and keepup with the kids. Also a great stress reliever.
