2K on the 360: NBA 2K6, Amped 3, & NHL 2K6

2K Sports decided we were worthy of their games as well! Check out final copies of NBA 2K6, Amped 3, and NHL 2K6 in front of our 360s (with a few of wires running everywhere in between).

Granted, sports games aren't the bread and butter of most hardcore gamers in waiting, but they have been known to float a few people's boats. The Shaq Appreciation Society would appreciate your support!

I sure hope when the PlayStation 3 gets close to launch that you guys dont do so much revealing of the console. You folks still the suspense of the release date. But hey what am I talking about, Sony and Nintendo are very tight when it comes giving out their consoles before launch, so I'm sure you folks will be in the dark like everyone else.

I was in a Wal-Mart tonight (yeah, Wal-Mart, I go there, and you know you do too, you just don't want to admit to it), and an employee had taken out the demo disk on the XBOX 360 and replaced it with his 360 copy of Madden 2006. I gotta tell, ya, it looks great. I thought it would be just a slight graphical update to the XBOX version, but it was really good looking. The animations were a lot better, the faces of players were spot on and full of expressions and I love that Madden voice is nowhere to be heard. I'm not a huge sports game fan (and I really hate EA) but I'm really thinking about getting this game after a few weeks of PGR3. This thing is at least worth a rent. It's gotta suck to be a Nintendo or Sony fanboy right about now.

I played a little bit of both NBA Live and NBA 2k6. Both look great but I cannot fathom that NBA Live is getting even reasonable reviews. IGN said it best with its 5.9 rating but Team Xbox and others must be blind or paid off.

EA takes out Dynasty, Slam Dunk, INSTANT REPLAY (Wtf is a sports game doing without replays?) and more. On a standard screen, the text is unreadable from your average couch distance and the default cameras are awful.

I remember that for a while, NBA Live was scheduled to come out in a few weeks. It looks like to compete with 2k Sports they decided to hack out every feature that wasnt yet perfect and release a typical EA pile of garbage.

It is a slight graphical update...I was watchin some guys play it at Best Buy yesterday. The game itself is just Madden 06 from the current consoles with higher res models, textures, etc. It's stil the same gameplay that has gone almost unchanged year after year.

Fortunately you are wrong b/c not everyone bases their buying choices on how pretty a game looks. It's a given that the next generation is gonna look alot better so it's not really a surprise. This is coming from someone who is a Sony fan and an even bigger Nintendo fan. In case some of you fanboys are too dense to figure it out, I am no biased fanboy (unlike some people on here.)

Thats the SDK unit...unless something changed overnight...there is no black retail unit.

And no to #1, as a Nintendo fan, I really dont care. The only game that interests me of the 360 titles I've seen so far is Kameo. Unfortunately, it greatly interests me, it looks like Rare is back to there good old selves.

But since about 4/5's of all the 360 titles shown so far are a sequel in some way, I could care less. My interest in the 360 has risen, but I don't see myself getting one for at least a year or two. If I'm going to spend a shitload of money on a next gen console, I'd prefer the "next generation" part of it isn't just minor aesthetic improvements. I bought my gamecube for Metroid Prime. I bought my PS2 for GTA. If I'm buying a 360, its gonna need some great, new, innovative, original (or at least not as stale and overused as FPS's and racers and shit) games, not "".

And I hate that they charge you so much (or at all) to play online. Thats just bullshit that the competition offers free online gameplay and you have to pay 50-60$ a year to play online with a 360. How bout for the free silver mempbership, they let us play against each other online, which is what I actually care about. All that other chatting and video messaging and rankings boards and all that stuff I dont care about, you can charge us for. Isn't that what you guys claim makes xbox live so much "better" is the live webcam broadcasting and chat and shit? Well I still fail to realize how that enhances gameplay. I can understand being able to communicate in game with people, but is all that extra stuff really needed?

Wow...(with the excetptiono of the game stuff you listed) you said pretty much EXACTLY my point of view on the whole thing.

I really dig games where main character has exactly that "character" and a "personality." That's one of the biggest reasons why I like platform titles (and some 3rd person games.)

I can't say anything about the online stuff b/c I've never played Xbox Live...and after hearing about all the whinny kids who play it, I'm glad I don't.

anyways back to the topic..can u guys post your personal comparison who experienced between 2k6 on normal ers and 2k6 on HD..??...is the difference really as dramatic as gamespot and ign claim??..

Wow #13, you must have been nominated for the pulitzer prize once or twice in your life. I am just amazed by the amount of detail you go into to express your point. I think I speak for everyone here when I say you have convinced all of us to believe in the point you have so extensively expressed.

Well, not exactly what I would consider constructive criticism, or valid criticism considering you CAN give out your friend code, but then again, nobody is really expecting much from you.
