This week's Escapist Extra takes a look at the common phenomenon of griefing in games, presenting the
'inside story' of a so-called "jerk on the Internet" as well as taking a closer look into real-world griefing. Team
killers are an all-too-regular appearance in online games such as
Counter-Strike and can seriously ruin the fun for
others, taking pleasure in doing so.
There are measures you can take against team killers, if you run into them too often—play with a group of friends you
can trust, turn off friendly fire, or maintain a banlist of rogue players. However, you're likely to run into them one
way or another, and gaining an insight into why they pursue such malicious tactics may help stave them off. Basically,
players team-kill because it's fun, so stop making it fun for them.
