Invasion of the Xbox 360 faceplates

hmmm cool dude, so why are there about 700 different car models available in the US alone? All you need is 4 wheels, and an engine and a steering wheel. Why!?!, Becaue everybody wants choice!! The body kit on a lexus, BMW, Merecedes, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Mitusubishi.. etc, does nothing to the product, ie the face plate on a 360, or let me guess, you drive a 1979 range rover with rusted floorboards, and a dented quarter panel, I doubt it!! People want the different look because it makes them feel different about the product and their experience. University marketing 101 my fellow.

I think the retail faceplates are just as sweet, especially that wooden surfer looking one, really goes with my room.

You don't have to buy everything, folks. Go to Lowes or Home Depot & get a can of that fancy-schmancy decorator spray paint. There are some cool texture effects available. You'll have a unique faceplate and Martha Stewart will be proud of you.

Has anyone determined for sure whether that faceplate is really carbon fibre? There's one selling now on ebay but it doesn't say :(

seeing as how carbon fibre is about five times the cost of steel, I would seriously doubt it.

For one carbon fiber is way too expensive. It's carbon fiber look. Forget the face face plate I am
spray painting the whole 360,360 degress.

I have the PGR3 faceplate and no its not real carbon but a guy on eBay is overlaying face plates with real carbon fiber if you really want one. But they are not cheap.

That PGR3 faceplate is "sweet".. trade ya for it.

Is the black and PGR faceplates for sale, or just limited editions?

I don't think a dark faceplate on a white console is very pleasing to the eyes anyway.

face plates are the stupidest thing u could ever get 4 ur xbox 360 or any gaming console. It doesnt matter that it looks good but what does matter is what it can do. For 20 dollars canadian its not worth getting a face plate to make it look better. If ur buying the xbox 360 just for its looks and so u can frame it on ur wall and never play it u r retarted. Its worth a lot of money and theres no reason to spend more to make it look better.

cool dude - It's all about choice. You most likely think that cell phone faceplates are a waste of money as well. Others prefer the option of having their cellphone/360 personalized. Just because you don't want something that is optional, doesn't make the idea stupid. Or are you one of those guys who hates "kiddy" games just because they aren't aimed at your demographic? I'm sorry that the world doesn't revolve around you and what you want.
