Japanese gamers have yet another reason to love Square Enix; if you pre-order the upcoming Final Fantasy
VII spinoff Dirge of Cerberus, you will receive a free DVD entitled Final Fantasy VII: Reflections. The
DVD contains various trailers from the Final Fantasy VII franchise (Advent Children, Crisis Core, Dirge of
Cerberus), but the real kicker is the ever-famous
PlayStation 3 tech demo, which recreated the opening of Final Fantasy VII with stunning visuals.
Currently, this is an offer for Japanese gamers only. Fans in the US, however, may get a similar deal closer to the
May 16 release of the game stateside.

Apparently you didn't read about all of the other stuff. Did you just choose the least enticing bonus to bitch about? I think it would be a really nice bonus to be able to play that FF VII Tech Demo on my TV.

Anyone know when Advent Children comes out here officially in the US? I don't mean an import...I'm talkin about an American release DVD.

I actually wanna see FF7 remade. Thing is, if they change the system, and remake the dungeons so that they're a bit more palatable, it could be worth the remake. It's either that, or rerelease the game as is on a handheld console... I mean, jeez. With the blocky graphics and horrid resolution and chop-choppy framerate in battle mode, playing the game on an LCD TV is an unsatisfying experience. That, and you actually -needed- that "Show exits" option at times.
So, alter the battle system, add a bit of complexity, fix the dungeons, fix the translation, add some voice acting, aaaand add a few more sidequests. Oh, and make Emerald and Ruby give you other stuff when you kill them. Then I'd buy it.
