Scandinavian airline offers in-flight PSPs
A Scandinavian airline that goes by the name of Widerøe has revealed that it'll be offering its customers a free PSP for the duration of their flight. After hearing this news we were wondering whether or not the airline will ban flight simulator games on board. It might cause a few problems for the flight attendants if PSPs are bleeping "Caution! Left engine failure!" or if passengers are yelling "damn, I'm outta fuel!" in the middle of a flight.

They'd better be short flights...

That's cool. Even though I remember playing some Gameboy games on a flight before... I think it was Singapore Airlines or something. Can anyone confirm this?

a lot of the transcontinental flights that offer screens on the seatbacks have offered nes/snes video games as well. The controller is a combo channel changer, inflight phone, game pad.
Luftansa and Singapore Aid had them for sure. It was on my flights to Germany.
Why would they have to be short flights Sense? You won't be using wifi, so it should be good for at least 6 hrs.

then you'll have parents with whiny kids on the plane and when they're about to land and take the psp's away, the kids will throw tantrums, pissing off other passengers.

Actually, reading the statement on their on website (they're a Norwegian company, by the way :) ), I can see that they're actually -renting- them out to customers. Doesn't say what exactly it'll cost, though. It does say that this'll only be in effect on flights that last longer than an hour.
And they're also offering PSPs for sale. Very good deal for them: They get them cheaper from Sony because they're advertising them, and they rake in money from people who want to put in a bit of gaming during the flight.
