Germany's new coalition government is seeking to limit the
development and production of violent video games—that's a nice way of saying ban. In fact, Andreas
Scheuer, of the conservative Christian Social Union, has said (in translation), "[violent games] have no place in
Germany's bedrooms." Scheur also supports the idea of a "complete ban." However, Olaf Wolters, head of the German
interactive entertainment software association, would like to remind German citizens that, "there are no such
things as killer games, [there are only] adult games."
Joystiq would like to reiterate that this will have absolutely no effect on our 48-hour-game-a-thon.
