Game trailers available on Xbox Live
Xbox Live Marketplace is serving up hot and fresh game trailers and a single demo as of this post. There are 480p and 720p versions for 15 titles including:
-
Call of Duty 2
-
Quake 4
-
GUN
-
American Wasteland
-
Madden NFL '06
-
FIFA '06 RTFWC
-
NFS: Most Wanted
-
PGR3
-
Kameo
-
Perfect Dark Zero
-
Ridge Racer 6
-
Condemned
-
Amped 3
-
NBA 2K6
-
NHL 2K6
The 720p trailers range from 50-130MB while the 480p trailers range from 10-20MB. The larger files take quite a
while (5-10 minutes) to download, you are unable to do anything while the download is happening, and the progress
indicator (conveniently pointed out above) is less than accurate.
There is also a demo of NBA Live '06 weighing in at around 500MB but we can't bring ourselves to abandon the
360 for the time it would take to download! Rest assured, when we do find some hidden reserve of backbone and download
the demo, we'll let you know how it works.

Is there an option to download and then shut off the console when it's finished?
vc @ Dec 18th 2005 9:13PM
R: no there is not an option like that.

I think that's a mixed blessing. As much as I love the idea of downloading content (DEMO'S PEOPLE! DEMOS!), I don't want to sit there staring at the unexciting downloading screen while doing so. Perhaps an option of doing it in the background and if you use an MCE/LIVE game it asks you if you'd like to pause the download or if something with MCE, limit the speed of the download for allowing the bandwidth to be shared with music from your PC or something.
But all in all though... that's badass any way to really look at it.

Go for it. The 500MB download is worth it, much cheaper than a rental :).
True you're stuck with the Heat and the Suns and for only 2 quarters but hey, free is free. I applaud EA for providing this and setting the tone. I'm shocked MS pulled the Kameo demo for public download that folks with dev kits could grab.
Sadly, it's best to download when you're not doing anything with the 360.
MS has done a fantastic job with MCE 2005 integration and the Xbox Live marketplace (esp Xbox live arcade).
Say, has anyone found a way to delete the M**********NG Titanic/Snowboard crap videos that are in the Media area of the HD. I can't find any delete options for those and they take up valuable space. After only 4 days I'm down to 11GB free on the HD.

...yeah, uh i think that the meter looks so inaccurate because the guy's finger is taking up a lot of room. if it was a thin line, there would be a lot more on the right side. it may not be completely accurate, but it's more accurate than what the picture makes it out to be.

so cool. middle finger. 7th grade or 8th?
