Instead of just playing next-gen games all weekend on their brand new Xbox 360s (I'm talking to you, Joystiq!), the folks over at TeamXbox spent some time analyzing how Halo 2 presents itself on the new platform. And, it's looking very good, with smoother edges and greatly improved texture clarity. But what's really impressive about all of this is that the game wasn't running in a HDTV resolution such as 720p. Nor was anti-aliasing enabled. Nope, these improvements were being seen in a plain Jane Xbox 1 resolution via s-video cable.
Comparison screens and video illustrate Halo 2's facelift effectively, providing good news to those folks who don't have an HDTV (you're going to see a difference!) and whetting the appetites of people who do (imagine what it will look like when you do see it in 720p with anti-aliasing turned on!).
