#49 How does anything you just posted prove that MS is pulling anything? What they basically said was that they were managing the release. Instead of shipping everything to stores and have it sell out with nothing left for months, a la PS2, they are spreading the release out over time. That sounds like smart business to me rather than an orchestrated conspiracy.

Bottom-line is, whether MS pushes out everything they have on launch day or whether they spread it out, there will be a shortage. For how long? That's the real question.

#49 As far as your comment about the google search being full of claims of bogus, that doesn't surprise me at all. The internet is full of people just like yourself that love a good conspiracy theory. Tales of evil corporations and dastardly politics play right into your hands. You're typical of your kind and there's nothing odd or funny about it.

You know what, out of all my friends, I'm the only one who's getting one tomorrow. Tell them the shortage is fake!

I totally believe the shortage is fake......up until about 4 days ago I had no idea there was even a concern to worry about a shortage. I bought my 360 online at Future Shop web-store (Canada), on October 26....and it is currently being shipped to my house according to Purolator right now.....if there was really a shortage how did they all of a sudden free up units for pre-order (20 units a day) for a week. Plus isn't it funny how the bundles Best-Buy, Future Shop and Amazon were selling kept getting more and more expensive as it got closer to launch. All they want is to create 'hype' and give everyone a reason to buy outrageously expensive bundles ($900+) which come with peripherals and games that some people might not even want but that is because that's how Microsoft makes the majority of there cash, it's not off the systems, because the technology of the systems is still very new and expensive they set them at a price point so we can all basically afford them, they are only breaking even. Yes I might have bought a bundle but it was the lowest priced one available and I bought it because I saved about $50 on stuff I was going to buy anyway. If I didn't get that one I would have simply waited I would have never waited in line because I know I could have got one a week later. On a last note think about why the games came out a week early in some stores like EB.......

I just stumbled across this article from bit-tech.com which is supportive of my last blog and I quote...

'Some readers have already been informed that they will not be receiving consoles on Launch Day, with one claiming he pre-ordered so early that there wasn't even a MSRP at the time. Yet he was told he still was not high enough up the list. Gamestop have been "sold out" for quite some time now, though curiously, if you have US$2000, you can still secure a console, providing you also buy every launch title as part of their Omega Bundle.

That's right: if you weren't already one of those people who think that Xbox 360 was expensive, the Omega Bundle comes with the $400 Premium Pack, three extra wireless controllers ($150), wireless kit ($100), faceplates ($20) and other accessories, as well as TWENTY games. Given that most Xbox 360 games will retail for $59.99, that's some $1200 in games alone. Our maths shows that despite this insane bundle, there is precious little discount for your bulk purchase.'

Thrice - MicroSoft has no control over what GameStop does with their systems. They could charge 20k and bundle every 360 with a car and MS couldn't say a thing.
