Umm... TSOP doesn't mean anything other than the shape of the chip. It has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with the chip's functionality. A "TSOP chip" could be a memory chip, a microcontroller, an AND gate, an inverter, a flip-flop, a clock generator, a PLL, ANYTHING....

So basically this news means nothing at all. Sorry.

The TSOP (Thin Small Outline Package) in question is a HY27US08281A which in fact is a NAND flash chip. Details can be found here. --> http://www.hynix.com/datasheet/eng/flash/details/flash_11_HY27US08281A.jsp
