EGS (Electronic Game Show) is Brazil's largest video game expo. This year's
showing took place in Sao Paulo over the weekend with Microsoft being the dominant player. The Xbox
360 gathered the biggest crowds and longest lines while strangely, Sony and Nintendo were both missing
from the event. Nintendo stole last year's show with the then newly released DS portable.
Second only to China, Brazil is arguably the fastest growing developing country in the world. Game and console piracy
run rampant due to the lack of official distribution channels there. While developing markets like
Brazil and China might not currently have the best profit potential for major game companies, they easily could in
the near future. How important do you think developing game markets should be to the industry?
