Thryon, the week's salary comment was directed at pennywise and it was just an assumption.

I went to my local walmart last night around 9 not thinking it was going to be a big deal....I was number 51 in line and they ran out of them with the person in front of me. Then i went to the mall the next moring right when it opened and most of the employees just kinda laughted when i asked if they had any 360s. If it wasnt bad enough i seen that walmart changed the amount on the laptop that is going to be 400 dollars on black friday to 490 dollars...ahhh visit bfads.net for all your black friday ads.

ah Meh, I killed my 360 preorder a month ago and used the money to buy quake 4. It was worth it, HL2 and Quake can hold me over until I get a 360.

lol Scott, good thing you didn't keep the preorder and get Quake4 for 360. Read the gamespot review: 6.6 - terrible framerate.

What I found funny on launch day was that at one of the BestBuys in British Columbia, Canada still had the full Xbox360 and Core systems on shelf. One sales rep was clearly impressed with the 360 because he had all the time in the world to play CoD2 (It looks effing amazing btw). I saw 1 guy buy the full system and the store still had about 8 or so more on the shelf. This was around 1030am. There were a healthy number of people inside the store, but they were clearly NOT interested in the Xbox360.

Seeing all those systems on shelf, made it really tempting to buy one. Really really reeeeeally tempting, but I made a decision and am going to wait until all the systems are out (at least until the PS3 comes out) before I make a purchase. I want to wait until all the hype has settled. So if the PS3 doesn't live up to the hype and gets outperformed by the 360, then it's PS2 --> Xbox 360. By then the 360 will be cheaper too :D.

Who knows, maybe the Revolution will lead the pack because of its controller and how nextgen games will be played. =o

I think they can do 3 million with no problem i mean its the must have christmas item and M$ knows that so they dont ship alot now to build up more and more hype and plus M$ isnt dumb enough not to ship 360s every week

They probably sold over half a million today alone. There are 3000 walmarts, 3200 gamestops, 600 BestBuys, and 1400 targets. That's probably over 100,000 units right there.

they sold 80 000 units today...not million...ps2 was the only console that sold a million units on the first day of sales...and there are 3600 retailers in US ...although x360 couldnot even sell 10 000 units in canada on the first day

all hype was taken away by ps3...no hype remains now

I gotta admit I'm pretty disappointed with the 360. If you're from the land of PC gaming, then the 360 is nothing new. The draw of consoles has always been variety. But the 360 has so many ports that it pretty much erases that advantage.

And with all the reports of crashing, looks like we're gonna see a recall soon, too:

My Xbox 360 has crashed when playing PDZ online... Anyone else?

The Xbox 360 is getting crappier the more I play... The graphics aren't even that great...

Definately waiting for the PS3, and selling my 360... Damn you MS, what a waste of money!

Brad - Actually your assumption of me was incorrect, too. I sold my soul to corporate america. So, plenty of money, but no soul to enjoy it with. Also, Im married, which is pretty close to celebacy. I stood in line because I was really excited about getting a 360 and would rather spend the time in line than deal with the uncertanty of not knowing when I will get one. Also, Im a nerd. Good luck getting one if you wanted one. Thats sincere, not sarcasm.

I went to Myers at 6:30 in the morning and waited 16 1/2 hours to get the xbox 360. They had 6 of the 400 and 6 of the 300 systems. A lady came 10 minutes after me. All the systems where sold out by 11:00 in the morning. Myers gave us chairs to sit in. The gave us coffee and cookies in the morning in the afternoon they gave us a pizza and at night cookies and milk. There was alot of mad people when they knew they where all out. One man got real mad when i told him they where all out he went to the manager and then came back by me and said you all must be realated to employees. I said no we are not he called me a stupid bitch and dum hoe. Then there was this guy that came when there was 2 300 systems left and he got mad went to a employee and walked by the seat left from by the seat 2 guys came sat down and he got mad he wanted the 400 and he lost out on the 300 to because he could not make his mind up. Then 2 hours later he came back with his mom and they sat there and bugged the manager for 4 hours. it was crazy but myers was really good to all of us. I went to get the xbox 360 for my 3 sons for christmas. everyone knew it was going to go quick and to come a few hours ealier they are crazy. yes I did wait 17 1/2 hours but I got to wait inside thats why I went there.

The Wal-mart I went to had a lottery for the 22 premium and 20 core systems they had. I did not win one. The fact that the quantities were so limited was discouraging. When I asked when they would be getting another shipment they said maybe mid december. The only thing MSFT is accomplishing by this shortage is an increase in theft. They have poor marketing strategy and im not impressed. In my opinion MSFT should stick with monopolizing the OS world and leave the gaming world to people like Sony. MSFT will not be recieving my support, they make crappy systems anyways.

Yeah, this conversation can go on for months, its obvious that people who want one, that didn't get one, are angry. My mom(who writes humor) says she could sue microsoft just for being as stupid as they are, they blew up the systems hype into the biggest balloon practically enveloping our world then popped it on launch day, those who could get up from the impact fast enough to scramble to the nearest best buy were the lucky ones, the others, dazed, unlucky and enraged. It all was some evil scheme that they planned. They knew we all were going to race in all sorts of transportation to get our hands on it first. I'd be damned if they don't make a movie...

Thanks Microsoft for making Thanksgiving a neurotic mess that was planned as a sales gimmick. I've lived through too many "fake" shortages of Holiday released games and toys, from Cabbage Patch dolls, N-64s, Sega Genesis, etc. All of which are garbage packed in boxes in the garage. This new system and the rising rage in the country is going to end in bloodshed in the long lines snaking outside of electronic gaming stores. Thanks for nothing, Bill Gates, in your attempt to be God. I refuse to play this game: the fake demand v.s. supply game. As for the new system, it's already garbage in my book. I am so angry! The only ones who will be angrier are Gate's kids when they grow up and inherit nothing of big daddy's wealth (Time Magazine). I hope I live long enough to see that rage played out. Gates may be dead at the time, but I think we'd all line up at his gravesite, dig him up, and kill him again. That's one line I wouldn't mind waiting in.
