MTV "GameØRZ" week in full swing
Looks like MTV's GameØRZ week isn't quite as terribly
out-of-touch as it seemed. In fact, amongst the glorified ads for the Xbox
360 and for some arbitrarily-chosen games are a couple of genuinely interesting features. For those interested in
professional gaming, MTV goes behind the scenes with pro
gamers in "True Life: I'm a Pro Gamer" and also follows the
Cyberathlete Professional
League (CPL) World Tour Finals.
It's not all about the gamers, though; MTV has also gone behind the scenes to take a look at gaming culture. Their
investigation of the support
group "Girlfriends Against Video Games" paints a sad but true story of the
increasingly common
"gaming widow" phenomenon, although this is by no means
limited to girlfriends as the article implies. There's also an
interview with Shigeru Miyamoto, in
which he talks Revolution, Mario and.. Nintencats?
These shows are all available to watch via MTV Overdrive, the
broadband video channel, although you'll need Internet Explorer. If you can stomach that, and the ads, you might find a
few pieces worth your time.

Wow, something worse than G4? Didn't know that was possible. Then again, the mere existence of tripe like G4 combined with the fact that some people like that drivel is proof enough that the universe is a cold, dark place with infinite possibilities for ass sucking.

Pro Gamers = Slacker Poster Boys
Girlfriends Against Video Games = Ugly/Frigid/Bitchy/Needy Girls Who Need A Scapegoat To Explain Why Men Don't Like Them Enough To Spend All Day Saturday Shopping For Shoes With Them.
And... I have spoken!

Good Afternoon. I'm Rita and I am a gamer mom. I have three kids and work with Handicap and mhmr patients. I saw MTV today in the morning and was overwhelmed bye the gift of giving. I applaud you. So many people were so happy to have such a gift. Anyway to get to the point, I work so many hours and don't have time to watch t.v. but if i had a xbox 360 I'd give up working so many unneeded hours. I work because i like giving my kids things. I don't make alot but it pays the bills and puts food on the table with a lil extra for them. I don't have the luxury of buying things for myself but my god when it comes to xbox and playstation I work extra hours for a new game. Anyway I wasn't watching the tele so i didn't know of the Gamorz week until today which is my day off. Hopefully my letter will reach you soon but if not then oh well it was worth the try. I haveto go for now. Hope to hear from you soon. Rock on MTV ya'll rule my world. :) Thanx Rita Saldana
