Revo uses the Same CPU compay(IBM) and sam GPU Team(Artx/ATI) so therefor no emulation needed for Gamecube BC. Ofcourse there going to emulate the legacy sytems with software because they all used different processors.

XD, it isnt a stupid article, but out of the 3 IGN lists

10 reasons to GET a 360
10 reasons to wait for Revo
10 reasons to wait for PS3

The Revo was the only good one. Seriously, the other lists are garbage, so Joystiq didnt post them.

You made a fool out of yourself for bashing Joystiq for posting an article, but that is what Joystiq does. In other words, you bitch they show something dont come here. Someone serves you bad food you dont return, same with a site. Joystiq has put stuff I dont like, but that is what they do.

Besides, I come to see idiots like you make dumb posts calling J idiots... then again I couldnt be staffed here because someone bitched at my post and id just rip their reply apart ;)

ANYHOW!

Maybe we should look at the other facts, the DS and now Revo are bringing Nintendo back to the big leagues. People are starting to remember good games, and it is the big N giving us that. THAT is what the Revolution is going to do, Nintendo said they dont mind not being first but at this rate and hype it seems they might very well BE first.

"The Revo was the only good one. Seriously, the other lists are garbage[.]"

Seconded. It's even worse that some of the "reasons" for buying the 360 were recycled for the PS3 list -- e.g., the lineup. The PS3 channel says even though the lineup is the "best all-around", the lack of a killer-app overrides that. The 360 channel says that you should ignore the lack of a killer-app in favor of the view that the 360 has the best all-around lineup. Say what? Smacks of fanboyism to me. At least the Revolution list makes valid points (despite the fanboyish titles of the reasons, like "Zelda", "Metroid", and "SSB") that are not turned around by the other lists. They even said something that I don't think is widely discussed: at some point, the freshness of shiny graphics is going to wear off ... and then what? And then we all go play the Revolution because it isn't the same old, same old in a new coat.

Oh, and might I add that having a blu-ray drive is the the shittiest reason ever? (And it's ranked #1...)

The revolution looks like one of those 40 dollar dvd players you get at wal-mart.
I'm still getting one though, as well as an Xbox 360 and two PS3's.

If Blu-Ray takes off as DVDs did, then it will be the number one reason for a lot of people to buy it.

It was after all the main reason quite a few casual or non-players people bought the PS2, for the DVD player.

But if Blu-Ray doesn't pick up and HD-DVD does, or if both fail (which would make me laugh), then it would ineed be a horrible reason to get the PS3.

I'm going to buy the Revolution, as I like the controller. It feels great and the demos at least were fun. I can see a Revolution arcade, similar to the Live Arcade, work great with it.
Not to mention, I at least know I will enjoy my Gamecube games and it will have Metroid Prime 3 with a great FPS/FPA controller and Super Smash Brothers online.

I will buy the PS3, when it goes down in price and after they fix the various problems that will occur during the first gen systems (and perhaps the second, as seen with PS2).
It will have games I want, that I can not get anywhere else (MGS4, untiled Gradius, etc). The rest of the features I could care less about, I just want the games.

I own the 360, but I'm glad I didn't pay for it nor would I have wanted to. Live is great, arcade is great (even if I don't buy games I can get free online for the PC), and the menu system is great.
The games though, just really aren't there yet. Hopefuly Microsoft has learned their leason and gets more games at a wider range of games and styles.
Good games yet, but nothing to wow me or make me wish I would buy a 360 if I didn't win one already.
Oh and of course, increase the BC list. I want to play the Sega X-Box games, like Jet Set.

Anyhoo, all three systems will be good. The only diffrence to me right now is the games, and that is what will make or break them.

I have to change my name once again, some ones using my user name ( Its all good) JS = Mr Nuclear, yae! yeah! : )

The Revolution has generated SO much buzz and excitment AND WE HAVEN'T EVEN SEEN ANY GAME FOOTAGE YET!!

Brilliant marketing. At E3 they only showed the machine, at the TGS they showed the controller, next year were suppose to be getting a THIRD revolution, Don't show all your eggs policy seems to be paying off for them BIG TIME.

Only nintendo can generate this type of excitment, they will OWN everybody.

SOON WILL SEE HOW GAMES CAN BE PLAYED.

GAME ON, peace! : )

Yeah, because Blu-ray will burn your home, and do everything bad except playing High Definition movies. In fact, sony is a liar and they won't sell it cheaper than most Blu-ray players, let alone price it like a console. It'll cost 3000 dollars.

Lovely hypocritical Xbox fanboys, when you mention the games and the way of playing for the 360, they mention the graphics, but when you mention the PS3, they mention the games. LOL

Indeed. But when you spend around USD 600 for the console, hard disk, extra pad and a couple of games, you would get quite disappointed if the only innovation in the games is being able to see sweat in the character's face.

I won't buy an Xbox360. But I know that I would be disappointed if I spend USD 600 to play games that are watered down versions of the same games (case NBA, NFL --or whatever the letters are--, FIFA, etc).

you're a complete retard; where did I say what you claimed I said? Learn to read before you reply and further more don't assume things i never even implied!
LSSLAVE
for the last time, it's stupid because reasons 8,6,5 and 2 are the only good ones and 1 is a good thing to some and a bad thing to others(so much for 10, but thats besides the point, keep reading). Ya they can post what ever makes them happy and some of their posts are great, but lately more have been crap or flat out attempts to create flamming wars to generate site traffic. If you don't get it now, you never will; you can't even focus on what i'm saying when you resopnd to me. You're so ready to tear up a comment before you even understand it. 1 more thing, the more crap you post, the less people want to come to the site because of the lack of quality. That's the main point here. The posts that will intentially cause fights are becoming more frequent; so ya they post articles (that's what they do right?) but doesn't quality of what they post count for anything? Obviouly not in your case. And to your point about being served bad food, if theres something you like at a retaurant and you try something different that sucks, do you not go back for what you liked? The problem in my case is i'm forced to filter through crappy posts to get to the few that are still worth while reading. Just the fact that you're trying to make me look bad and by the way, you're not doing a good job of it, proves my point. You're wasting time fighting with me over this crap and guess who gets all the benefit from it? Joystiq! So I have to give them credit for that because there are so many people on here like you and that's what keeps the site busy. Why bother puttin gon interesting news or rumors when they can get a flamming fest on? Before you reply to me in the future, put a little more thought into it. And for the last time, i'm not trashing Revo, just this atricle because of it's list and it's true reason for being posted. Thanks for coming out; carry on fighting with who ever doesn't worship your opinion.

oh yeah and another good reason to get revo is that , coming from nintendo you can be sure youll get a machine that doesnt crash on the first day or have issues such as that of the hard drive on the x360. also, having a very big majority of multiplatform games for a launch is the shittiest thing ever, who wants to spend 300 bucks to play the same game as on the current generation with grafiks that in the end, barely look better. I tried the x360 on a booth at EBgames (call of duty, kameo and king kong) and im sorry to say , maybe it was because the games were just demos and not full versions, but they really looked like shit, even ps2 doesnt that much alliasing.

I think the Revolution will be a great system to have. Nintendo just has a way of putting the game play of the user to be very important. They love releasing like fun, innovative games. Like waiting to release Zelda until it's perfect. It's all about the gameplay, and I think this will be apparent when the new system comes out.

In comparison to that of the 360 & PS3, yes, the graphics won't be as good or have a system with all the bells and whistles... To me, the most important thing about a system is the gameplay-- if the games are fun, people will keep coming back for more, even if the games aren't so incredibly flashy in terms of graphics.

Oh, and Zelda... Come on... ZELDA...

To #64, Pam:

Pam, you are SO right.
It must have been destiny that The Legend of Zelda from the NES was released with a metallic gold painted cartridge.
It's basically set the aura of the crown jewel of the gaming world. Every Zelda gets more & more legendary reaching Best Game Of All Time status.

Those who don't even PLAY Nintendo games often feel tempted to buy their systems JUST so they can play Zelda. That says a lot.

The setting of that game is ingenious. What else could you expect from Miyamoto? How dreary the game world be without him in it.

To #63 (cheklem) & other posters who had similiar comments:

Doggone right about Nintendo's sturdy quality products.
Outside of a rare few exceptions (ex. the classic NES cartidge loading spot [blow on it maybe it'll work], and the infuriating N64 controller pak glitches) Nintendo's products stand the test of time.

My SNES works just fine in its soon to be 13th year of ownership. My old NES now has a power problem (won't stay or turn on) but I've had that thing for 17 years so that's understandable. I think the problem is fixable at that. Two years ago I was still playing it.
Nintendo 64 still chugging right along in its almost 9th year of ownership.
And my Gamecube hasn't given me ONE, NOT ONE semblance of a problem since I picked it up almost 3 years ago.

I've heard from a forum about a woman who washed her son's clothes. His GameBoy Advance (the original non-backlit version) was in his pocket unbeknownst to her. She found out AFTER the fact that she'd accidentally washed her son's GameBoy Advance in with the clothes.

But after it dried out the system worked as good as new no problems. UNBELIEVABLE! Even in soapy water & being tumbled violently in a machine that little Nintendo product STILL functioned reliably.

Another story I heard about a crazy guy who used to treat his electronics all roundabout. Throwing 'em around when he's tired of playing them. Losing them in couch cushions for months at a time to happen upon them later picking up where he left off. All kinds of neglectful stewardship of his GameBoy Advance.

One day he accidentally dropped his GBA on a fire escape or stairwell or something. 2 stories up if I remember correctly. Or was it 4? All I know is that it was high up OK.

It hit the ground...smashed, scuffed & cracked naturally.
He thought it was finally the end for his much-abused system.

Nope. That little handheld toy STILL, *STILL* worked like nothing had happened.

Now if THAT doesn't tell you about how much Nintendo puts the quality control behind the stuff they make, nothing will.

I've read from a site about the history of videogames that the original Nintendo home system, the Famicom, was made with inferior parts in an attempt to shortcut costs. The Japanese public didn't like it & Nintendo could have been doomed.

From then on the Nintendo chief Yamauchi said never to shortcut on the product ever again. And Nintendo flourished despite that initial failure.

What we've seen in the years since only solidifies this history. And that's why Nintendo's stuff is so strong & sturdy.
I'd say it's one of the company's strengths.

Outside of deliberate abuse & misuse your Nintendo stuff is going to last for years to come.

Revolution will dominate the gameworld. I have no doubt whatsoever.

Quality product + quality games + innovative application & interface = DOMINANCE

Jumpman scores 100's of points on the barrels with his new remote control-like hammer come 2006. Believe it.

OH YES, the revolution. You better believe I will be preordering that little bundle of joy. The revolution will be set nicely beside my 360 and my PS3.

I believe all three systems have excellent points, so I buy all of them.

Prettier Graphics? Please..... IGN has not even seen a game or even knows whats under the hood in the Revolution.. Rember the launch of the Sega Genesis and Super Ninendo... Sega Won the battle by far.. and had one of the first online gaming revolutions with the SEGA channel. And now the last gen consoles like PS2, Xbox, and sadly to say the "Kiddie"Cube... who won the battle? of course PS2 won.. Please Nintendo started to suck back in 1992. So please do tell everybody in the world the the "Revolution" Is going to Revolutionize the world with its new controller. Japan might like the change. But 99% of the world is not going to like the change.

Stick to the basics.. Xbox 360 and the PS3 are going to hold the market share. Revolution??? I laugh in its face. HA HA HA Silly Nintendo.

All I'v got to say is that if Nintendo and Square do team up again on the Revo, and finally produce a "TRUE" sequal to SMRPG, that that right there will be reason enough to get the system over the other systems.

hey #67...

did you say something about genesis being better than the SNES? and you called the gamecube a kiddie-cube - what are you, 11 years old and trying to act all grown up? maybe one day you'll realize that just because its games are colorful and dont involve blood doesnt mean its not fun for us adults.

for now, why dont you go ask your mommy for candy, 'russel'
