Peter Moore discusses 2006 outlook

Microsoft badass Peter Moore has been cited before on the ambitions they have for pursuing a huge lead in this next-gen race through the calendar year. This is expressed in his expectation to be able to ship 10 million units by the end of 2006. What with the huge shortages, and some people raking in the dough on eBay, this can be music to a gamer's ear who staved off the urge to jump in and purchase it early. With this strategy, the idea is to build a solid market as quickly as possible, because Moore emphasized that "10 million" is the magic number that could land them the upper hand. But taking it all in, and especially considering that they are going to try shipping about 3 million by February '06, is this really a practical goal that can be achieved? Everyone has their opinions, but it sure will be interesting to see how Microsoft delivers.
