3 day old news?

Well, actually, several month old news.

But this was reposted on Digg 3 days ago.

It's a shame Doom 3 has an ugly ass lighting system tho...it would explain why tons of developers are using Unreal Engine 3 instead.

Everything in that screenshot looks a little flat.

I do have a high-end PC (Athlon 64 x2 & SLI Geforce 7800 GT setup)...and Doom 3 has a fugly lighting system. In real life shadows are supposed to be soft and and not be completely solid black. Quake 4 was slightly better but not by much.

That's cool, I've never played Quake 2, this might be something I should look into.

It looks like something or someone has shut down development, according to the site.

This sucks big time! The thought of running through Q2 and the expansion packs for the nth time was seeming a real possibility there!

I wouldn't mind doing it all again to see the changes.

Bummer.
