If you look a little more closely at the Wal-Mart circular, you will see that the $48.88 price is only for the OLDER colors, and not the newer colors w/ the brighter screen.

Jay,
If BLACK FRIDAY is a racist day or sounds racist, I LOVE IT. I am a black woman and would love to have blacks associated with one of the most profitable days of the year. BLACK FRIDAY makes up more than 50% of the retail sales for the year, so yeah, keep the name. The reason it is called BLACK Friday is because that is the day that most retailers move out of the "red" (negative profitability) and into the "black" (positive).
Gotta Love America and ACCOUNTING TERMS.

The above comments are from my wife. :)

Be nice to salespeople on this day. Those who actually like their jobs live for this day. The rest of us (most of us) are dreading this and considering not showing up.

The commission is great but it's not worth the stress.

Black Friday is usually the fifth biggest sales day of the year, not the first. It certainly doesn't account for 50% of retail sales for the year. Tons of people go shopping, but many don't buy anything. This leads to Cyber Monday, when people buy everything they looked at during their Friday off from cheaper online sellers during work on Monday. Here is the snopes.com link debunking this myth:

Whoa scotty G's wife. relax! I had no idea what Black Friday was and by going off Americas track record I thought it might be something insulting.

While the Thanksgiving weekend rush is the official start of the season, it accounted for only 9.2 percent of holiday sales last year.

The busiest week was from Dec. 12 through Dec. 18, which garnered 22.5 percent of holiday sales.
