UK 360 shortages likely to echo USA

This a shame i prorder my xbox 360 with Game.net on the 1st day the preorder came out on the 17th of aug. On the 22nd of this month had a email from Game.net with a update of the following stock.

This is the email i got

"Dear Mr J,

I am writing to clarify the stock situation for the new Xbox 360 console.

We have now had final launch day allocations confirmed to us by Microsoft, and unfortunately, this is nowhere near enough units to satisfy demand.

As a result, we have orders that we are currently unable to fulfil for launch.

Unfortunately your hardware preorder is one that we are not able to guarantee for delivery to you on December 2nd.

You have our assurance that we are doing our very best to secure more stock soon, and that we will contact you as soon as stock is available from Microsoft.

When Xbox 360 does come into stock, we will send you a link to a secret page that will allow you to grab an Xbox 360 bundle. As a preorder customer you will receive this information before it becomes public to give you a better chance to get in first.

Please note that we do not consolidate orders therefore, if you have preordered Xbox 360 games or peripherals for launch then these will be despatched as normal when they are released.

With this in mind you will need to decide how you would like us to proceed with additional orders you have made. If you choose not to act they will be despatched to you when they are released. If you decide to cancel them then our Customer Services department will be happy to help they can be contacted on 0870 *** ****.

This is a shame as i preorder it on the 1st day and Game is the biggest stock holder for the uk. I'm going to be getting my other preorder stuff (games and play and charge kit) but no xbox 360 this sucks big time! :(

Yeah I got the same email, preordered a month ago :( Although the bundle sounds quite good, especially since I'm not exactly rolling in money. But I really wish I'd been bothered to get up off my bum and preorder in store, they say that all the ones preordered in store will be delivered before christmas. Now I doubt I'll get it this year :(

I went in today to my local Game store and they confirmed that they had already had a shipment and it was out the back. Then the manager went on to say "he was going to be able to give all his pre-orders a 360" Sorry to rub it in to you online guys (and gals?!) but the stores seem to have plenty in.
What i am annoyed about is that there is going to be no midnight opening (and the fact that this matters to me!) I can't believe 9 hours difference is getting me down! Ha Ha.

I ordered mine from Play. However, am assuming that it won't be showing up until at least February 2006!

I Pre ordered my 360 from a Chips store in September and i am getting it at a midnight launch only problem i got is no play and charge kit :( so looks like i need loads of batteries for the 2 wireless controllers.

I ordered mine at the end of July and had a phonecall from HMV last week confirming my order for launch day. :)

I got a xbox 360 in the post now should be here in 48 hours :D after searching the net for a good few hours found this webpage of whosesallers. So i get my prorder games on friday and my xbox 360 should be here on wednesday.
