Keep fit while playing Counter-Strike
When thinking about gamers, one generally doesn't think of
well-toned, athletic sorts—after all, most games involve sitting in one place for extended periods, with hands being the only things
moving. Also, exercising takes away valuable gaming time, adding to the lack of appeal.
However, this ingenious USB device incorporates both a treadmill and controller, allowing users to shed pounds while shooting; the inventors claim it adds a new layer of immersiveness to first person shooters, and even have video demonstrations. Weird, wacky, and yet wonderfully fun. From their website:
"The future of serious gaming belongs to true athletes who have a bit of technical savvy to boot!"

If they had those in gyms, id be there all the time. If they could integrate a lightgun too, it would just be too good. Then playing online against other gyms, in gym clan matches, aww yea.

-I already am an athlete, biotch! Quick reflexes and incredible thumb stregnth from years of gaming. Also, my brain gets to /flex a lot with strat RPGs.
Seriously though, that's a bit insulting. I play games BECAUSE I don't want to play sports or exercise for entertainment. Guess some people need it, I personally don't care for it at all.
Although, if you implemented this for World of Warcraft, you'd have a MUCH thinner and aerobically fit America.

The people already in shape will do it, so its no use. Because we all know the more "horizontally challenged" will never do it.

I'd do this

Dood, I fell off the treadmill trying to change the song on my iPod. Now you want me to concentrate on a video game and actually play it? There is no way I'd be able to do that. I'd kill myself.

falling off a treadmill sucks...

Oh don't be so sure. I know alot of people who play Gameboys while walking. Sure, it's not the smartest thing, if you're doing it in a place like New York or other ungodly crowded places, but I think you get the idea.

I used to have my treadmill set up so I could play games while exercising. It worked especially well with RPGs that didn't require all that much coordination while leveling up. I had to give this up when I had to move to a much smaller place. Nowadays I have to keep the treadmill out in the garage and read or listen to audiobooks to pass the time. I really miss be able to combine my exercise and game playing.
