To #29, wondermonkey:

No you aren't the only one who loved Super Mario Bros. 2.
I got my NES in 1988. Christmas to be exact.
Played the HELL out of Super Mario Bros. 1 for the first year of ownership. Super Mario Bros. 2 (the one we Americans got) came out that year. When I played that I was totally in LOVE with the game. Once again played the HELL out of it.

Contrary to unpopular opinion Super Mario Bros. 2 was EXCELLENT!
And many gameplay elements from that game survived in later Mario games.

Without American SMB2 you wouldn't be holding turtle shells & such in Super Mario Bros. 3 & Super Mario World. The Charge aspect wouldn't be there & you wouldn't be collecting power to jump higher in the later games.

And look at the colorful characters who survived from that game! Shyguys, Bob-Ombs, & Birdo. Ninji was in some games as well. They need to bring back Mouser & some more of those old characters more.
And the character design! American SMB2 is what made the current day Mario sprite. SMB1 had the oldschool Donkey Kong-reminiscent sprite.
SMB2 finally made him look like the drawings.

As for The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, ANOTHER masterpiece. I TOO was skeptical about the art style at first when I saw early screenshots. All that went out the window when I played it. It couldn't have been more perfect. And really it had a lot in common with the N64 version Zeldas anyway.
The only gripe I have with that game is it was too easy & didn't allow me to fully utilize my swordskills against those enemies. Fighting Orca was a blast & I would have LOVED to see at least ONE guy give me that level of a challenge.
Outside of that I felt immersed inside the ambience of the game.

Super Mario Sunshine was fun as well. Those FLUDD-less endstages brought you back to old SMB where you feared every jump around those pits. Made your groin clench up when you leapt into the air being so scared to fall.

This is just a case of spoiled gamers. And one of 'can't please all of the people all of the time'.
Anytime Nintendo is on the label of a game it will NEVER be bad. When they make it themselves the LEAST they will get is good if not great. Usually excellent & legendary.

And if anybody wants to argue that point there's a 25 year track record to review.

EXCELLENT, my friend. Excellent.
Spelled it out for 'em.

The word I think you're looking for is Luddite.

Fearful of the new technology. Solely because it is different. They just don't understand it.

I knew from the moment I saw that promo of the Revolution controller that thing was gonna make history.

I DO have imagination & vision and I saw CLEARLY the implications that this controller would bring to gaming.

When the Nintendo Revolution comes out it's gonna make those other systems look dinosaur.
Seriously.

This is the biggest "thinking outside of the box" that has ever been done.

Nobody will readily return to gamecontrollers of old once they get their hands on this one. I see a flashback of 1996 & those Nintendo 64 displays in the stores. It's gonna change gaming & I'm bold enough to make that proclamation.
It WILL change gaming.

And Nintendo will return to the top of the market marketshare wise as a result. Not just a company that profits comfortably but a company that rules.
You can count on it.
And the doubters will see this when it comes to fruition.

Is a controller what makes people buy a console in the first place?

In Nintendo eyes yes with threr new controller.

The controller can

#1 .Turn the controller 90 degrees and use it like a classic NES controllerto play NES games.

#2 .The controller can also slip inside or be attached to peripherals through a proprietary port on its bottom end.

#3 . Controller uses Bluetooth technology.

#4 .If you hook up the Revolution to your T.V. or and your computer monitor the controller can turn them On And Off.

#5 . The Revolution's controller can turn On and OFF the console.
