About two decades back, toys were basic, simple things. Plastic action figures, for instance, were cool enough on their own, even if the only "action" the toys ever really did was swing their arms and tip over occasionally. These days, it's all about game consoles, MP3 players, cellphones, and gizmos that require rechargeable batteries and extended warranties. And to that we say: Sweeeet.Black Friday last week saw massive numbers of electronics pass through the registers, and often saw people lining up at the stores well before they opened for business. While the belle of this season's shopping ball was undeniably the Xbox 360, the PSP still saw a good deal of its wares shuffled out of stores. In fact, one store representative who was interviewed was quick to suggest Sony's portable as the next most popular electronic people were looking out for at that particular store. Also high on the list were cellphones, laptops, and music players; some at prices so low it would make you trample your own grandmother.
Despite electronics being the undisputed hot ticket this holiday season, is that what you went out hunting for the day after Thanksgiving? What's your sordid tale of woe?
