An enterprising chap has been experimenting with the Windows Media Center Extender and has managed to get some applications running on the 360 via his PC. By using the MCE's extensibility model, it's possible to embed applications within Web pages which the MCE then hosts; it seems that the 360 can access these applications. While the details are a little sketchy, this bodes well for the prospects of third-party software on the 360--using this, you can access streaming radio stations, sports results and other Web applications, although the poster's experiments with games were less successful.[Thanks, Lamar]
