Seeing how the hard drive is detachable, its almost a given that larger capacities will be available down the line.

As interesting as it seems, most people are not going to download 7 or 8 gigabytes of data to watch a movie anytime in the shortrun except if it was free (BitTorrent). Current bandwidth is just too little & too expensive to support that kind of disturbution.

It is an extremely interesting concept, and would it honrestly surprise anyone if the Halo Movie was made available via Xbox Live for download?

What Microsoft should do is just screw Blu-Ray and HD-DVD and strike a deal with the Movie Studios to release movies in WMVHD format on standard DVDs, playable on the 360! The Blu-Ray vs. HD-DVD war is getting long in the tooth and I want my movies in HD on optical media YESTERDAY!

Downloading movies onto entertainment devices/computers like the XBOX 360 is what will lead to the end of mass distibuted hard copy media within the next decade. Its a great idea and the fact that Microsoft has begun to allow XBOX Live users to download music videos eludes to this idea. The fact is true that current common household bandwidth wont be favorable to this feature, but for those who will take the time or have the bandwidth, its a great start at such a feature.
