New server lets Dark Age of Camelot players go back to basics

Some MMO companies are learning the hard way that their players dislike change. Others, like Mythic, are actively encouraging their players to return to their roots; a new European Dark Age of Camelot server will open on the 7th December, entitled "Classic". This server will put restrictions in place that discount certain powers and artefacts added to the game with the Trials of Atlantis expansion pack.

There always seems to be a vocal minority in MMOs calling for a return to the "good old days", so perhaps giving them back to the players is a great step forward. At the opposite end of the spectrum, the game is encouraging new players with a 14-day free trial—trying to satisfy both veterans and newbies at the same time is a huge challenge, but rewarding if it works.
