Official timeframe on next wave of Xbox 360s

Seeing is believing. Every manager I've talked to from Wal-Mart to Best Buy to EB Games to Gamestop said don't expect anything until Dec. 18 at the earliest. I hope all of these people are wrong as I still don't have one.

well i hope they do that and also send out more shipments before Christmas, i was told that I'm on the 3rd shipment so there is still hope for me to get mine before the end of the year. 400,000 units? and 300,000 for europe, good luck selling 3mil by march at this pace.

And once again, no numbers mentioned...I'm not looking forward to trying to grab one of the whole two units every store is likely to get.

My local game crazy got 25 units at launch so I'd think that they'd supply more than 2, and FYI I don't live in a big city the population here is 14,000.

It was 3mil in 90 days.
So 2.2 mil in 12 weeks or 150-200k a week.

I think it will be more like 100k a week until the Canadian plant goes online then 150k.

(100k x6 + 150k x6 + 800k = 2.3 mill)

Let's hope that is true words, not wishful thinking. And, lets also hope, that it doesn't overheat, or have a glitch in the software like some of the first shipped!

i've been hearing the December 18th date too

well, called EBX today in Newark, DE Christiana Mall. They said that my pre-order, which was supposedly the 2nd shipment when they left me my first dissapointing message, now says before Christmas. Kind of a dissapointing timeframe, especially since I'm in Boston now for school. It's going to be rough getting it up here...

An employee of an east coast Best Buy has informed me that they expect to get more consoles sometime during the first week of December.

The Best Buy in question has plans to get around 35-40 Premium consoles.

The official word from MS is that Xbox 360 are being send to retailers on a weekly basis. It is then up to the retailers to decide how to distribute them to their stores. As far as EB and Gamestop telling people that they will not have any consoles until the 18th or even after Christmas is because their corporate offices are allocating them in such a way that they do not get any.

I preordered my 360 in early August, only 1 week after EB started taking preorders. I was 24 on the list, and the EB only got 20 units. So that places me in the 4th spot for the 2nd shipment. I've spoken with the manager of the EB, and he thinks that their second shipment will be anywhere from 2-4 units. 2-4 UNITS?!?!?! What the heck is that? If they get less than 4, then I don't get one til the third shipment! I pray that he's wrong!

I'd just hate to be the 20th guy on the second shipment list. Man, that would really suck.

I was also told that I will recieve a "buy one get one free" game coupon at EB for my wait. Screw that! I want more than that for waiting weeks for something I was guaranteed to get on 11/22.

Well up in Canada for me, my local Eb Games and Wal-mart are both saying December 7th. Don't know if this helps but most places are almost certain this is when the second shipment will be arriving. Hope this helps because Microsoft should be sending out the second shipment to most providers at the same time.

oh god, i hope so. i preordered mine september 17th at ebgames, and was guaranteed one on launch. i felt lucky. now im totally fucked over since the last time i went i talked to some schmuck who even said,"oh maybe you're even on the THIRD shipment!" oh thanks you fucking diarrhea'd puke slut..all i know is that i am going to my ebgames today to talk to a manager, and i will say: listen man, what do you know about the 360s, do you have any, when are you getting any, the minute you have them i expect a phone call so i can pick it up, or i will kick your fucking ass over the phone. i might just stick up the store like that guy on the news. lucky fuck..actually no, he went to jail i think.

The EB games store I preordered from in September told me i was #6 on the second shipment list wich is supposed to come in by december 5th. he also said there would be another december 26....who knows, this was a bad launch, gates is a dick, and some people including me may just take my money and invest in PS3 just outta spite!

I reserved mine at EB Games the first week and I was number 16 on the list, unfortunatly they only got 13 at that store. They say that second shipment is going to be in by the next week. As for the supposed Xbox 360 recall, there are some problems with some of the Xbox 360s not all of them. When using it you need to keep the system well ventilated because of all the processors, it has and the amount of power. The power supply is freaking huge. Well see what Microsoft has planned.

Why haven't we heard any more confirmation from MS about this end of the week thing? Last time I checked, Friday was the end of the week but no one has gotten any new supplies. Why hasn't anyone in the media or the game industry pushed MS to clarify these comments??

I pre-ordered mine in september as well and I was told I was on the second shipment then, but was told that I would get first dibs on extra allocated systems on launch day. With that in mind I was hopeful to get one on launch, but then we all knew what happened with that... They were short changed and didn't even get enough to fill the first order. I am number 5 on the list for the second wave and ,by the way, I preordered the premium package. Now I would be ok if I knew how long I was going to wait, but now the store I preordered from is saying that all they are going to get in the second shipment is the over-pirced stripped downed ass core systems. I have scored the web on a daily bases and found Microsoft head haunchos say, "weekly replenishments" all over the web for the common joe to read, but every store I talk to including the one I preordered with saying, "I have no clue." Look Microsoft I love your system and I have a live account. All we ask as consumers is just straight facts and an opportunity to upgrade our systems I know you are trying, but inform your retailers on shipments and please don't use these marketing ploys like sending core units until christmas so we have to spend too much for what others got for cheaper. I am discouraged and I know that my loyalty to your system is being tested and I know that others aren't so loyal and they will wait for the ps3 so that they will at least be shot straight by some one. I have a perfect dark zero game that hasn't left the box yet so try a little harder why don't you or I am moving on.

I preordered my xbox 360 at gamestop in August and was told I won't be getting mine until after christmas. Theres like 75 people on the second wave shipment. So I cashed in my reserve and bought one on Ebay($610) on 11-21. This asshole didn't even have a system in hand which he had promised would ship to me that day. As of today, he still hasn't gotten one and will not speak to me over the phone. I might have to fly out to Oregon and straightin this kid out. Never buy anything on Ebay from "dmbmoore32".
If I had just bought one from someone else I'd have one right now.

Please, people, keep the harsh words to yourself, as what you've heard from anywhere other than Microsoft is most likely speculation. My guess is that Microsoft is going to be sending out about 20-40 (or more) consoles to each store per week, which will be good news.

They will probably be available on the 18th thats what best buy's telling people and most other stores say it will be a week before christmas because microsoft waited till exactly one week before christmas last year to relase more xboxes.

It's saturday and I just go back from Circuit City, Wal-Mart, Toys R Us, Sears, KB Toys, KMart, Target, Costco, and Media Play. I hit all of these up this morning, hell I'm kind of tired now and even more pissed off than before. No one has any, I even spoke to the managers at each store and they said they are recieving word from corporate that no 360's will be here until February 06. What the hell is MS doing? They have accomplished one thing however....pissing their loyal customers off.

I was and am so psyched to have this system that I did what every other Xbox gaming fanatic did.... Reserved my 360 at the beginning of September. My EBGames said I was 24 on the list of 25 that were supposed to be shipped. Then I heard the shipment will be cut in half...

So I did what every reasonable, responsible adult did, I kept my pre order status with EBGames, waded through the crowds of people on launch date. After sitting in front of my local Walmart for 6 hours, leaving empty handed, I drove around hours on end on launch date, checking every retail outlet, to hole in the wall Mom and pop shops hoping somebody might have one available still. Ofcourse, they didn't.

Here is the deal, you will get it eventually. You already know the Xbox console was way better than the PS2 (except for a few titles), and you can most definitely expect the same from the 360 and the PS3. You can stomp around and cry and pout, but it will not get you the 360 any faster and won't change the fact that the PS3 is going to suck hard.

talked to the manager at my local gamestop (cincy, ohio) he had a meeting with his corporate superiors and said they are getting 10 units in by next Friday (12/9 i think) i wish i wouldnt of sold my first 360 on ebay, but hey, the profit paid for my preorder!!! and that was with a core unit :)

I don't have a problem with Micorsoft's shortage of consoles. I understand that they wanted to have the system out first and that they looked to sell a lot of systems for Christmas. The main problem that I have is that no one has said on the record the exact date of the second and third shipments. Some woman from Microsoft said that they were doing weekly shipments. This is the second week and I haven't seen a single xbox. I pre ordered the premium pack a couple extra wirless controllers and 4 games. I have everything but the console. Help me out when am I getting my xbox 360...

Microsoft was calling it the "second wave" so that sounds promising, but knowing MS these days I don't know what to think. I have talked to some people at ebgames, wal-mart etc, and they keep saying that they have "no clue" but I think they are just saying that so nobody bites their head off if the shipment comes in a day late. Hopefully what I'm hearing is true and if not I'm almost posative there should be one before Christmas, unless MS is suicidal.

I was #8 on the first preorder list at and EB near Cincinnati, Ohio. My store only got 7! I'm first on the list for the second shipment. EB has told me they will receive on or before the third week of December. No other info, just called them this evening. A local Wal-Mart and Target got a few today 11.3.5 It appears Microsoft is re-stocking stores that didn't take pre-orders and in bed with Best Buy although they haven't gotten many either and screwing EB. My store had over 100 pre-orders and so far has received 8 - pathetic! There is no way Microsoft has shipped 300-400,000. Every store in the area I've talked to says they rec'd less than half what they were promised at launch and very few since. Someone is lying - Microsoft or EB. Microsoft has royally screwed up - having two models - rushing to market and trying to do a global launch. On the other hand what's another month? There's still halo on live and a lot of other great games on the original xbox.

Microsoft has totally fucked this launch up. I live in a town of about 90,000 and was told that the whole town recieved less than 100 360's. Thats horrible. Then they lie to their customers. People are promised to recieve a system if they preorder it, but most did not get their 360. I am also wondering about this whole weekend shipment. Where is at? Which weekend were they talking about? They could at least give us straight forward answers. I would care if they dont send more until next year, but at least tell us instead of leading us on. I was not very excited about the 360 to be honest and probably not going to get one. I dont think its going to be that great. I dont have a HD tv., so its not going to do a whole lot for me. I forsee the 360 really bombing because of this whole deal. I think im going to hold out for the Nintendo Revolution. They actually have the balls to do something different. The controller is going to rock.

I do not understand why everyone is mad at Microsoft. Why aren't you just mad at the store that you got your pre-order at? They are the one's that took your order and money. They knew how many systems they were getting, they are just betting on you pre-ordering and then staying with them for another shipment later on.

I do not shop at Gamestop or EB games anymore. When GTA SA came out I went to pick one up, the closest store to me was a GameStop. The employee said he did not have any unless I has pre-ordered it and he was not sure when more will be in. I said "ok" and was leaving when he told me that he could probably justify selling me one to his manager if I bought a strategy guide with the game. What the? (I thought he did not have any?) I said no thanks and drove to my local Target to pick it up.

The game store took your order and your money so I would be upset at them not MS. By the way my brother in law stopped by Gamestop and they told him since he did not pre-order a 360 he would not get one until April. Sure, right, I believe that. If you want one from them you might have to wait because they are so backed up on pre-orders. My local Walmart said they got an email and they will get a shipment before Xmas, he did not have a date just that it would be before Xmas. Just check with your local Walmart, Sam's Club, or Target you'll probably get it sooner at one of those stores than anywhere else.

You should be made at microsoft. they make them. I preordered august 29. i worked all summer. the 22nd was the day i was going to get one i was going to skip school and play on it all day. my local gamestop only got 15 units!!! i was like # 50. the dude there said that if they got extra than there order they could have sold them all in 2 days. there was like a 100 people who preordered. they could have sold over 100 in 2 days!!! that is a lot. microsoft is holding back because they want every one fighting and wanting one so when they finally sell them they can make a killing.

I went to get a 360 on launch date. I didn't get one...i would have been the next to get it if Microsoft would have sent 1 more. Anyways, I have been calling stores every day and going to them when they open(Walmart, Best Buy, CC, etc...) The one time I called Best Buy and they told me the 18th of DEC. and the other time they told me not untill after XMAS b/c MS is having trouble with the system overheating/hard drive issues...i said to him that i called the other day and the lady told me the 18th and he told me that, that was not true. 2 days later I called the Local Costco. They told me that they're main warehouse in the North-east was scheduled to recieve them on the 9th and that it would take 1-2 days to be shipped out to the local store.

I work at Compusa in Modsto CA. I talked with our warehouse maniger and he told me that we were going to get some for possibly by Dec 10-18. The grate thing is that store employes get dibs on the first units in the seconed shipments. I hope you guys get an xbox 360 soon also because I know how you guys are feeling right now. I was looking forwerd to geting it on launch day when our store posted a message saying that employes could only let custamers purchis a 360 on launch. This realy fucking pissed me off. I new there was no way that I was going to get one now. I would have to wate till the seconed shipment which I thought could come as late as the midel of January. Anyway good luck to you guys.
