The PSP's screen pretty much blows when it comes to reading standard-sized websites, which only makes more of an argument for why RSS is the way to go with viewing web content on your PSP. MioMediaBox is a program that'll works by downloading whatever feed you specify, which it converts to a PSP-ready image file that you can read on your console. It does all this through your home computer, so it should work regardless of what firmware version you have.Strangely enough, version 1.11 could not grab feed from any of the sites we threw at it, so we ended up testing out a beta copy of version 2.0. It operated fairly well, since all it really did was save an image of the website you specified and cut it up into bite-sized images. Since it didn't really take note of the content of the page, only that it needed to be sliced into 272 pixel-long segments, text occasionally was cut off in between pages. Regardless of that quirk, however, it worked as advertised.
Pricing info is slightly hazy at this point, although it looks like they might be going with the boilerplate duo launch of a free, ads-supported version and paid, ads-free version for under $20. It's free to download for now, so take this as an opportunity to try this out before you have to do something respectable, like pay for it.
[Thanks, Michael]
