Byte Hell 2000 drops Mario & Luigi knockoffs
A couple of months back we posted an image from an
upcoming Sony PSP title (Japan only) that was, for lack of a better phrase, a blatant rip-off of Nintendo's WarioWare,
Inc. games. While understandable, the developers of Byte Hell 2000 took it one step further by adding demented
caricatures of Nintendo icons Mario and Luigi.
A new trailer was released recently, and it seems that
those caricatures have been removed from the game. The minigame featuring the plumbers now has two generic, demented
characters in their place. Was this to protect the legality of the game, or were the developers simply trying to add
some taste to the title?

so yeah, that game looks like trash, mario knockoff or not.

when will people realize, "Demented" does not equal "cool"
If that were true, Insane Clown Posse would be really "cool", not a total joke.
ohh, burn!
also, "juggalos" are stupid.

wow. that looks like a game i would totally not buy. i wish they would have released it with the mario and luigi ripoffs though, because then nintendo could sue their asses!

The axe guy may not look like Mario anymore, but the guy in the kart does. I guess their legal team decided "1 Mario = Parody", "2 Marios = Copyright Infringement".
I like that Death was telling me to go jerk myself in the first scene.

Why can't ANY video game company asides from Nintendo make cool, cute or at least classy characters for games?
Jak & Daxter
Spyro
Ratchet & Clank..
blah blah
is good character design dead, or is everyone just retarded?

They should be spending less time creating a parody of Mario and more time examining the self-parody that is the game title.
Byte Hell 2000?! For Christ's sake!
