While Europe is preparing for tomorrow's (today's?) launch of the Xbox 360, some countries might not be so excited. We already heard about Sweden and Austria, and now two German readers have contributed their observations. Stefan writes from the German city of Hannover (pop. 600,000):"I don't know if this is of any interest for you, but I would like to report that the Xbox 360 is a complete no show here in Germany. While the launch is just a mere day away, there are no tv-commercials, no magazine ads, no news reports... no demo kiosks or even posters in any of the big electronic stores in my city. Nothing."
Finguo writes, "When the Xbox 360 launches in Germany tomorrow, gamers will be able to snag a premium package plus a second wireless controller for only 399 euros" at "German electronic-market chain 'Mediamarkt' which is the biggest of its kind in Germany and Europe as well."
We've heard before about Germans not liking videogames; are retailers trying to entice an indifferent German population into making the next-gen leap, or has Germany already been abandoned? If you want a 360, Germany might just be the place to be.
[Thanks, Stefan and Finguo]
