Talk about the dark side of gaming! Don't mistake these little Aryan wonders as the girls next-door, oh no, Lynx and Lamb Gaede (a.k.a. Prussian Blue) tour the nation performing at white nationalist rallies. The 13 year-olds recently picked up gaming as a hobby. The Prussian Blue game of choice? Ethnic Cleansing, made by Resistance Records. Seriously. Scary.

I saw these girls on a tv show. They are very devoted to Nazism. They are home-schooled and very narrow minded as a result. They were told by their parents that Hitler did good things, and that he probably didn't kill all those Jews, and they suck it up like it's candy because their parents said it.

Nothing to worry about though, just another generation of morons coming your way. As long as they don't practice violence or anything, they can believe whatever they want, as stupid as it may be.

Home schooled = Does not play well with others. Not all of them mind you. Maybe not even most. However with parents like theirs what do you expect? I dont really feel that as much as the article may not be promoting these types of people, I feel that it should not even be posted on this site. I just feel its wrong and should not be acknowledged.

I'm surprised Joystiq would give these examples of human garbage a moment in the spotlight... for no other reason than they play a video game.

Unfortunately, ignorance breeds ignorance. I've known some mostly normal people who just get really weird and nasty about racial things because that's what they were taught.

Chances are, if you know someone with a real racist attitude, they were raised with it. I knew someone who had a grandparent in the Klan. Scary stuff.

By the way, I haven't read the link, but I've heard of these girls before. I think that TeenPeople (or some kiddy magazine) was actually going to do a story on them but shelved the idea because of public backlash.

I don't normally argue on forums (generally a waste of time) but...

1. Most of your examples come before there was extensive public education.

2. Homeschooled children *can* get a better curriculum, but that doesn't mean they do. You can get Einsteins but you can also get the families that come to my college campus every year and tell me that I'm going to hell because I'm enrolled in public education. Seeing an 8-year-old girl condemn me for something that she doesn't even comprehend is mind-numbing and a little heart-breaking.

And this is all disregarding the arguments of how homeschooling does or doesn't properly socialize children.

(I think we can all agree that it doesn't in the case of our Nazi friends here.)

...plus going to school is part of what helps you develop as a person and how to interact with others. You also can *GASP* make friends with people from other ethnicities. Mommy and Daddy (or even a person paid to home school) can't teach a kid how to have social interation.

Every kid should go to a real school (both elementary/junior and high school.) The people I have meet who have been sheltered their whole life & home schooled (ESPECIALLY teenagers) have the personality of a doorknob. They do not know how to interact with others their own age.

...and in case you were wondering I attended catholic school from K thru 12 and no I am not some brainwashed Bible thumper. I had friends who were Hindu, Buddhist or atheist and nothing was ever forced upon them.

the worst thing about those girls is that all the violent things i would love to do to them would make me just as misguided. i don't mind joystiq posting about them, however, because i'd rather be aware than oblivious. issues of expression/censorship are always relevant to gaming. as for the schooling debate, can't we all agree that both models fail at least some of the time? what's great about humans is that we are all individuals--we look different, we think differently, fuck differently, etc. those differences will always be both problematic and sacred. eh, sorry for getting abstract... i'm tired.

well, i was home-schooled, by bible thumper fundamentalists no less, and i turned out alright.

honestly enough, the stereotyping of homeschoolers is for the most part right on. i couldnt stand it when i went to 'homeschool' conventions, as they were by and large in my part of the midwest, thinly veiled nutball rightwingers trying to bring up a new generation of nutball rightwingers (and for the most part succeeding).

the concept isnt completely off-base, considering *some* public schools' fallacies, but in most cases unnecessary. from my point of view there are and will be a few einsteins in any group of people. your geniuses will probably have an easier go at shooting through higher grades with homeschooling, but thats not to say that same intellect wont be recognized in a public school setting. that said, those are far and few between and in the meantime, the majority of the homeschooled are being deprived of ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY social interactions (it was hard enough for me to get used to freshman year college, like going to high school 4 years late).

maybe these two will get lucky, and find alcohol and other illicit substances to be a saving grace as early as i did (that was sarcasm, mostly).

Yeah, not to harp against Spencer's ideology, but arguments made in favor of homeschooling would do well to include examples of successful people within the past twenty years to contrast with a modern US public educational system (whereas the most recent given was the Wright Bros. who flew their first plane over 100 years ago).
