Austin-based game studio Digital Anvil has been shut down and its remaining developers will be redeployed to Microsoft Game Studios in Redmond. Best known for PC space combat titles Starlancer and Freelancer, and the Xbox shooter Brute Force, the Microsoft-owned shop hasn't seen much action in the past few years.
Digital Anvil was originally founded by Chris Roberts of Wing Commander fame and was acquired by Microsoft following the release of Starlancer for the PC and Dreamcast.
