EA has a way of
getting sued, it seems, but it appears that a
business meeting with a small developer—over an idea for a football game—has gotten it into legal hot water once
more.
According to Reuters: "Virtual Jam owner Pernell Harris said he met with EA in late 2003 to discuss Heart of a
Champion, a football game he was developing in which players guide an athlete from high school to professional
football. Among other things, players pick the athlete's parents and handle all kinds of daily experiences from sports
practice to school homework." Sounds a lot like the new Superstar Mode in Madden 2006, doesn't it?
The validity of the charges were denied by a spokewoman for EA, of course, but even if EA finds no way out of this
feature mess, there's always some money to make the problem go away (before things
really get ugly).
