There is racism online. Hell,I participate in it,but in a way that Chapelle's Show does,by poking fun at how stupid we are by making stereotypes and hating others for skin color.

And if the "N word" was banned from Live, where is the freedom of speech? We pay for Live so I think we should be entitled to say what we think. When someone grabs the Battle Rifle/Plasma Pistol combo,it's known as the "Nig***" combo,so you're going to tell me i'm not allowed to say that because it's "morally wrong"? Say's who, you? What makes you better than me? Nothing, absolutely nothing.

I'd be more worried about cheaters, people screaming/singing in the mic,and dicks who play cheap than racism over Live.

Yes racism sucks. Yes assholes are on the internet. Yes Live allows the immature to feel absolutely free from the basic duty of being a halfway decent person, which in real life they probably are. Does that mean you should censor the entire whole of Xbox Live ? Of course not. I admit that 90% of the people I've met on Live I prefer not to meet again. But Ive met, literally, hundreds of people who I like and some I keep tabs with and play matches with often. If you can't handle the trash talk mute the offender, or turn off the communicator, most games let you do that. If it won't, plug in the headset connector and disconnect the actual headset at the mini-jack. It will still show you are wearing it so the speakers won't play sound, yet no trash talk to be heard. As poorly written as Yakov Fox's post was, he has a point about the whole "Jack Thomspon"ite thing. You can't try to prohibit free speech. Even if someone expressing their idea of free speech has a bigoted, narrow-minded view it must be protected lest we lose something so much more important than a game of Halo.

First off, don't bash MS for features DEVELOPERS do not implement. Microsoft has NO say in how developers use Xbox Live...it has gone to the point where MS has made XBL just read what you are doing from the dash(instead of trying to make developers make their title's 'Live Aware').

As far as voice is concerned, pause your session for about 10 seconds and go to the player's list...find said racist a-hole and mute them...this is permanent...while I don't know if that option is available, if it is - USE IT. Find some like minded gamers just like you and add them to your friend's list and when you play online invite your friends to play with you. This will almost 100 per cent fix your problem.

I realize that with the introduction of the 360 this is some of your first times on XBL. Trust me...there are developers who know how to make your time online the best. You WILL be hooked. It just takes that one game. It was Midnight Club 2 for me...then Rainbow Six 3(and Black Arrow.) in other words...stop b*tching!

How hard is it for people to read the article to understand what the problem at hand is? It's not "racism on XBL" or "M$ not being able kick racists offline". It's Blizzard not implementing their online play features well enough for YOU to block racists and other asshats.

Halo 2 does everything right. Why can't other developers just do it the same way? It's not like Bungie patented their stuff.

If you're an older gamer (25+) and want to hook up with mature people who don't scream, rant and rave in games, hook up with the folks from 2old2play.com. They're several types of crazy, some of them ;) but they're a hell of a lot better to play with than the random jerks you often get matched with on live.

OMG!! I Logged in to play Call Duty 2 and ran into a similar situation someone said “are you ready to play”, and all I said was “yup” and he goes “we got another Negro” and I have ever ran into anything like this in my life or a video game for that matter and I'm shocked to see that these occurrence are this common, is there any official word from XBOX on this?

Now with the xbox 360, all the trash talking idiots choose the gamerzone of UNDERGROUND, whereas the people who want to play and not be fools go to PRO. Microsoft should monitor the UNDERGROUND strictly, maybe voice recognition...OOOOOoooo technological, but i bet they could do it!
