EA has announced plans to open a
development
studio home base in Singapore, where existing titles will be customized for the Asian market. Games will be
translated into at least five different languages for distribution throughout the continent. The Singapore studio may
also work on online games, which are big sellers in Asia. Developers from Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Singapore and the
Netherlands will make up the 20 or so employees of EA's new studio, which will be headed by Irene Chua, EA's vice
president of operations in Asia.
