Nintendo of Europe's senior marketing director, Jim Merrick, will return back to Nintendo of America after a three year period where he oversaw the successful launch of the DS, GameBoy Micro, and the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service. His return to America could be to help get the Revolution ready (or us ready for the Revolution, as it were) by this Thanksgiving.
In an interview with Eurogamer he said, "We're very serious about trying to be a more global
company and not follow the stereotypical formula of Japan first, then the U.S., then Europe some time later." But here
he is, leaving Europe to come back to the US to ostensibly help launch their newest console. Then again, he did say
Nintendo was aiming for a relatively ambitous 14-week
launch window. Who better to pull it off than Merrick, familiar with both the American and European
markets?
