GamesFirst! has found the best use for
an Xbox 360 Core
system so far—as a cheap and versatile media hub for the home.
The Core's very lack of a hard drive is what apparently makes it such a desirable
terminal to access media
stored on computers found elsewhere on your network. The lower price resulting from the drop of a drive only improves
the system's value as a media-hub powerhouse.
And here we thought the Core 360 would feel unwelcome. Just keep in mind that the 360 works
best as a media hub when you're running Windows Media Center on one of your PCs. Very thoughtful of you to set that
condition, Microsoft… verrr-ry thoughtful! Don't forget that the original Xbox made a decent media center/hub
as well—after a little "tweaking," of course.
