Just because you can download (illegal) ROMS and play old Nintendo game on your computer, doesn't mean people want to.

Look at the success of the iPod with Video. People are happy to pay $1.99 for a TV show... even though they COULD download a torrent and rip it to DVD. How many everyday people would have the technical knowledge for this?

3 MB was the memory capacity of the GCN so I don't know about that claim. If we just extrapolate the precentage of the video memory of GCN compared to system, we get 8MB. This is also in accordence with Moore's law (with memory capacity doubling every 18 months).

The thing to remember is that even a 480p display looks great on a small screen.

Damn all you people that say Nintendo will be done for, did you not read the damn article, ITS GOING TO BE CHEAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That means more profit for Nintendo. Money is all a company needs to survive and Nintendo will get that money unlike some other console makers out there. You guys are either blinded by your fanboyism or are just that stupid to not know that money is all you need to run a business. Nintendo will never pull out of console making because they have the MONEY and turn in the PROFITS that a business is upposed to pull in. I bet MS doesn't have those two words (money and profits) in their X-BOX department vocabulary. Money makes the world go round and it makes Nintendo rich. BTW I am a Nintendo fanboy but I am not blinded by it like some of you. I already have a 360 and I will get a PS3 but Nintendo is so much better.

Let's say that the revolution is only twice as powerful than the gamecube, as it has been rumored. Have any of you played Resident Evil 4 on Gamecube? Now imagine graphics twice as good! Graphics are so good in the current generation, by the time developers fully tap the power of the 360/PS3, it will be time for X3/PS4. I'm guessing the revolution games won't be any different than Ps3 or 360 until maybe the end of the lifecycle of that generation. But look at the PS2, graphically inferior for a long time now and still putting out awesome new games. The only complaint I have about nintendo is that they do milk the whole retro thing to death. Please give us new IP's with the Revo.

Before I get bashed for the above defense of Nintendo. You should know that I camped out for a PS2 on launch day and I eventually broke down and bought an xbox because of all the great games I was missing out on.

This time around will be different though. I am 25 and married. Bills to pay. Yadda, yadda, etc. etc. Bottom line, I really can't afford to pay the better part of $1,000.00 for a new sysem, a few controllers, and some games. And my wife and I both have good jobs. People just dont have a grand laying around to spend on games. Let alone 2 grand for a ps3 AND a 360. Another reason the Revo keeps looking better and better.

Okay, did the rest of you look at the stats someone posted for the new Rev GPU? That thing's a beast if that's true. A 600MHz clockspeed? That's over 3x the Flipper's clockspeed, and not that much lower than the CPU's supposed clockspeed. And with 256MB of memory on the chip, they don't need any more system memory. That all looks fine.

I am a truly hardcore gamer. I have an Xbox, a PS2, and a GC. Also have a DS. I also play PC games, Pen & Paper RPGs, CCGs, and regular card & board games fairly regularly. I don't have a 360 for the same reason I don't have a PSP. No one game has really sold me on it yet. I'm willing to spend money when there is something there I want. I bought an Xbox because of Outlaw Volleyball. I bought a PS2 because of Final Fantasy X. I bought a GC because of Super Smash Bros., the weekend after launch no less. I bought a DS because of Kirby Canvas Curse. I've really been looking forward to Perfect Dark Zero, for like, years now, but not so much that it will induce me to pay $400, and wade through lines to get it. I'm not that impatient, I can wait. I will have a 360 eventually (not because of PDZ, I'm getting it for Lost Odyssey, but I'll pick up PDZ and any other games that catch my fancy), but not at $400. There are bound to be games I can play while the price comes down. For $150 I can pick up a Rev, 1 or 2 games and 3 extra controllers on release day. If I got a 360 with 1 game and 1 extra controller right now, I would not be able to afford the other 3 games I want to buy.

I'm sorry, but Nintendo's strategy this time around is just flat out better. All they need is a game that will draw my attention at release, and I will have it. But if there's not a game to justify the price, then there's just no reason to get the system, and right now, nothing 360 has to offer even comes close to justifying even a $300 price tag to me.

Just openning up the nintendo library will prove to be worth the asking price. 'nuff said.
