Pre-order PSP D-pad cover for Japanese fighting fans
Capcom is offering a bonus to Japanese gamers who pre-order Street Fighter Zero 3 Double Upper
(Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max here in the
States): a PSP D-pad cover, to make portable 2D fighting that much easier.
While the PSP may have a serviceable pad for games requiring digital input, we applaud Capcom's proactive stance on
meeting its fighting fans' needs.
Whether recipients of the Max variant of the species will be privy to such a special or not is another
matter. PSP importers interested in a classic Sega-style D-pad, look no further.
Spinning-pile-driver time, yes?

I hope Capcom brings this accessory out in the US. I've never had much difficulty using the PSP joypad for performing special moves on Darkstalkers Chronicle (Capcom's first PSP fighting game, which was very well done), but anything that would facilitate the motions is always a good thing.
I plan on getting Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max, as it's shaping up to be the definitive version of the game, combining elements from all previous SFA3 versions into a spectacular package that's only available on PSP. This would just be the icing on the cake!

Oh man can I get one of these for the PS2 as well? After all the bitching we have done over the years about the split D-Pad design you think Sony would change it but the PS3 prototype controller still used it.

i'd like something like this for the DS.
sometimes the DPad hurts because of how it's like a clicker.

this is the kind of game that would make me buy a system. nothing can be greater than Street fighter as a serious fighter (Smash Bros taking the less-serious side), if the PSP had a reasonable price and at least one more game that really appealed to me was released then I'd buy a PSP.
in the mean time i'll stick to my Street Fighter 3 Alpha GBA :)

The ps2 style digital pad suck, My thumb keep hitting the controller surface and it too low. So i modded my digital pad.
1. cut a piece of plastic into a square from any dvd case.
2. then measure and cut it into cross shape similar like dreamcast or nintendo pad i enve drill a hole in the middle, then use sandpaper and smooth out the edge and the corner so it doesnt have any rough edge.
3. put a layer of black fingernail pain or a clear coat, very smooth and easy to use.
4. then glue it on the pad.
So much better than the oringinal pad and alot easy to play vf4 and other fighting game on ps2.
Little disappoint with ps3 digital pad.

Sigh. This makes me want a PSP. I think I may be the only person moved to buy a PSP for this game and this attachment.

DG, I suspect you're not alone. Perhaps this bonus cap can fit on top of the standard D-pad from a DualShock?

Shame the Mega Drive D-Pad sucks. Nintendos + ftw!

The best fighting gamepad of all time is the Sega Saturn version 2, bar none.

Its sad to say that this will be one of PSP's best games considering how long its been out. That wasn't a shot at the game, just my dissapointment at PSP's game library.
