It's often hard to imagine the people behind the GM screennames who patiently (or not so patiently) deal with your
problems, day in, day out. However, this story from MMO Vendetta Online helps add a touch of humanity to those
chained to the helpdesk.
While restoring a character who had accidentally been deleted by a user — it happens to the best of us — an
unfortunate mishap with mysqldump led to every single character in the game being deleted instead. It's far
more amusing than it should be. Fortunately, there was a backup handy, and all paying users are being given a free week
in compensation for the error.
