Petition for TMNT on XBL Arcade
An online petition has been launched to encourage Konami to publish a version of its popular Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arcade franchise, specifically, 1991's TMNT IV: Turtles In Time. Konami has already partnered with Microsoft to bring content to Xbox Live Arcade. Should our beloved TMNT be on the agenda? Sign the petition.
Note: In October, I spoke with the Greg Canessa, the director of XBL Arcade. During our conversation I specifically
questioned the possibility of TMNT making the online comeback. Without a direct confirmation, his eyes
twinkled, he smirked, and said I'd we'd be pleasantly surprised.
[Thanks, Daryl]

I don't know, dudes - it's a beloved Super Nintendo gem. Something tells me Nintendo is gonna hold this for the Revolution virtual console.
Mazinkaiser @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
I'm on the list! This is one of my fave multi player games of all time! This Live Arcade has a lot of potential if it ends up resembling MAME!
yay @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
Uh, Konami made this. Nintendo didn't make it.
SuicideNinja @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
I doubt they can hold it. I'm sure the exclusive agreement was done a long time ago.
I'd love to see it...although I already have it. But playing it on my Xbox 360 would just be neat.
ayumi_xx @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
Lets say Revolution will have this on their system...
BUT will the revolution allow you to play this online with a friend? Or even chat with them in real time like xbox live?
I would choose xboxlive for this version instead...

"it's a beloved Super Nintendo gem"
Actually, it was never released on super nes afaik, it was only released on nes under the title "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 The Arcade Game." Anyway, it would be great to see it on live, I've only been playing it on mame :).
JDuB @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
Would this be playable multiplayer style via seperate locations? I.e. pickup games with 3 other random players?
Jon @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
Yes it was on SNES! They're talking about Turtles in Time! Come on. Anyways they screwed up the emulated version of the Jamma TMNT arcade game that was hidden in one of those new TMNT brawlers. They used some crap generic music and ruined the whole mood. If they can get the licence for the music again then they should put it on the 360 arcade; if not don't bother.
sintax @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
This game along with The Simposons arcade game would... well, I'd need a tissue.
Angelo @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM

I hope you're not being serious. I have a SNES copy of TMNT IV: Turtles In Time about 5 feet away from me. I've been playing this game for over 10 years, it is truly a SNES gem.
yay @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
Actually, the picture is from Turtles in Time, which was on the SNES, but Konami still made it, not Nintendo. The origiinal TMNT arcade game only got a NES release which sucked.
jason @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM

Abhinav Kumar @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM

Samuel Febres @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
What I would really love would be Rock n' Roll Racing... Man, I would pay for that without thinking about it... *sigh*
Abhinav Kumar @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM

DT @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
Most of you are a bit wrong....here goes geekness.
TMNT come out in arcades in (1989)is a huge arcade hit and hets and NES port known as TMNT 2 the arcade game in (1990)though the graphics are of course crappier there are 2 new levels added which are pretty cool. In (1991)TMNT II Turtles in time comes out in the arcades and is a huge hit. I remember seeing those foot soldiers come flying at the screen when you throw them...whoa. In (1992) Turtles in time comes out for the SNES as TMNT IV Turtles in time, again the graphics are a tad worse but there are new levels and bosses as well as some new moves so overall it is actually better then the arcade still those four player quarter munchers will always have a warm place in my heart.

I LOVED playing this game with my brother. Let me get my pen ready...
Live arcade rules!!!
Josh @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
And people say everyone clamoring for homebrew on the PSP makes the PSP lame.
Thankfully by the time I get a 360 it will hopefully have a decent game library outside of the Live Arcade
Jeremy Wright @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
The first 3 games were my favorite, but I signed the petition for Turtles In Time anyways :D
Andrew Page @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
Please add this to XBL Arcade! I loved (and still love) Turtles in Time! Where do I sign up?
If they do it, that woud kick so much ass.
Frank @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
I loved playing this game as a kid. I once paused the screen after throwing a foot soldier just so i could trace it(sorry i'm no artist). so i would love to play this one again.
murph @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
XBL needs NHL 94!!!
Mazinkaiser @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
SNES is my fave system of all time! I never had as much fun with any video game system as I did with it. The remember always having at least 1 game available that I didn't own that was must buy. Worst example was the in a window of a few weeks, Contra 3, TMNT 4 and Zelda 3 came out. I miss the excitement of always having a wanted list, I hope Live Arcade can bring back some of those memories because playing emus on PC is cool and all, but its not that great for multi player.

i hope this, and many other classic arcade games i.e. street fighter 2, TMNT, etc. make it to XBOX live. There's no reason they shouldnt. If microsoft does this kind of stuff it gives them a HUGE advantage. I would love to be able to play multiplayer in this game. If it's on live! arcade, you'll be able to...in 720p as well.
TheUnsane1 @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
Well TMNT is a great game and all but what I would REALLY like is the Xmen arcade game.
john @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
the sad part is...many games most likely will NOT be solely on the vitrual console. Keep in mind that games like Goldeneye, and Perfect Dark are now microsoft property via there purchase of RARE. Sure, alot of these titles will end up there, since I'm sure the formatting of the games will be similar, but just because it was on a nintendo console, doesn't mean it's gonna be on the virtual console. Nintendo would have to get the express permission of EVERY third party developer to do this, along with convince them to reformat the games to run on the console. I'm sure they'll just be emulated though, so it shouldn't be a big deal. Hell I already have 700+ SNES games on my PC thanks to SNES9x. Rumor does have it that alot of sega titles, i.e. golden axe, sonic, streets of rage, comix zone, etc should be making there way to the live arcade as well.
thomas_h @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
maybe they could get super mario bros 3 on XLA :D
seriously though a sonic game on xla would be saweet.
Paranoised @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
Petition Signed!
I'm a bit confused but I had a TMNT2 game on my Sega Genesis, is that the same game we're talking about?
Embassy @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM

Simpsons Arcade game
TMNT turtles in time
Xmen 6 player arcade game
my head wud literally explode....
Slestak @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
Forget TMNT . . . I want MOONWALKER!!!~!~!
"HEE-hee!" [grabs crotch] "Whoooooooo!"
thettrash @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
By the way Nintendo never had exclusive rights to this. I had a copy of it on my C64. It sucked balls, but it existed. (The simpsons arcade sucked balls equally as much on the C64)
The ZeroCorpse @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
Eh.
I'd rather see Taito Champion Wrestler, instead.
Denjinflash @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
YEAAAAAAAAAHHH~!!! TMNT turtles in time would be great on live!
me and my friends already play this on MAME for xbox, but would be great to play a widescreen port online!
Mike @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
This would be awesome if TMNT got out on the XBOX Live Arcade
Mjollnir @ Dec 18th 2005 10:01PM
Do it ...
Do it.
