X-Men 3 trailer available on Xbox Live
Yeah, you could go to Apple's QuickTime site to view the new X-Men 3 trailer, but if you want to see a high res 720p version in your living room, power up that new 360 and connect to the Xbox Live Marketplace for a free download.
There's no Bryan Singer this time around, but there are plenty of new mutants including Juggernaut, Emma Frost, and Omega Red. Let's hope the third time's a charm with the game adaptations. Mutant Academy and X2: Wolverine's Revenge didn't exactly set the world on fire, but maybe Phoenix will.
[Thanks, master x24]

Ok, what am I missing?
http://www.apple.com/trailers/fox/x3/hd/
Not just 720p, 1080p too. Which the Xbox 360 can't even do.
Is the Xbox 360 version a different trailer?
mutie @ Dec 18th 2005 10:03PM
The TeamXbox link says it's for real. Anybody connect to the marketplace yet?
What the hell's Rogue lookin' at? ;)
Mike @ Dec 18th 2005 10:03PM
I downloaded this 2 days ago on my 360. OLD news.
Good thing about trailers is I can download them for my PC which supports 1080p compareds to the tv my 360 is hooked up to, which supposrts nothing.
Corey @ Dec 18th 2005 10:03PM
"if you want to see a high res 720p version in your living room"
Yeah Jeff that'd be it.
The ZeroCorpse @ Dec 18th 2005 10:03PM
My monitor doesn't do 1080p, either.
But it's neat that the trailer is available in high-def for people who want to view it on their HDTV, via the 360.
So far, I've been pleased with the 360's Live marketplace.
darko82 @ Dec 18th 2005 10:03PM
I wish they had the Sentinels in this one. And Kelsey Grammar looks too damn old as Beast. Nice makeup, though.
ronald.raygun @ Dec 18th 2005 10:03PM
thanks for letting me know that juggernaut and omega red are in this...i didnt see them in the trailer and i get to tell my friends about it before they know :)
Rare Hare @ Dec 18th 2005 10:03PM
"I downloaded this 2 days ago on my 360. OLD news."
ok man, don't even start that shit. seriously.
anyway, i'm really depressed about this upcoming film. the director is such an ass and an idiot. i just can't believe that's the guy who's handling the Dark Phoenix saga.
and NO GAMBIT. i mean SERIOUSLY.. who the fuck cares about Juggernaut, Emma Frost, or Omega Red? i don't even know who Emma Frost or Omega Red ARE.
Josh @ Dec 18th 2005 10:03PM
bah looks great. sorry i didn't bitch about it i know i don't fit i with the majority.
wtf?
there do i fit in now?
anyways looks good, i can't wait. At least the don't eff up the xmen movies as much as they eff up alot of comic movies. i.e. daredevil, yer mom, the hulk.... etc. history of violence. anyway rock and effin roll. peace out. werd to big bird.
n3rrd @ Dec 18th 2005 10:03PM
Rare Hare, you're complaining about a comic book movie but have no idea who Omega Red or Emma Frost are?
Wow, that's a much less extreme case of Jack Thompson complaining about video games.
I am surprised that Kelsey Grammar makes such a convincing Beast.
HighDef Edition @ Dec 18th 2005 10:03PM
Hey #7..take your meds lately? For folks like myself who have been reading/collecting the Uncanny X-Men comics for years, we like 'Emma Frost' - Cyclops's new girlfriend & 'The Juggernaut' - prof half-brother in theComic World.
Personally I would have preferred if they made a Feature Annimation Film of the X-Men using NextGen Graphics i.e. Final Fantasy. There is no way that they can tell this story effectively with so many characters.
I know a lot of people were not feeling the Hulk Movie but at least they finally potrayed the HULK as he appears in the Comic World - A Giant among men - via Computer Graphics.
I will be in line for the X-Men Premier though. Bring-on the Ghost Rider.
Rare Hare @ Dec 18th 2005 10:03PM
no, i don't know who the hell Emma Frost and Omega Red are. i DO know who Juggernaut is (thank you very much HighDef Edition).
i admit that it's been quite some time since i read the comic books, but come on. are you really telling me you'd rather have Omega Red than Gambit?
i mean, that's cool and all.. but i really want me some Gambit in the next movie. especially since he's been promised since the FIRST movie.
i suppose i'll have to settle for Jubilee.
Rare Hare @ Dec 18th 2005 10:03PM
"Personally I would have preferred if they made a Feature Annimation Film of the X-Men using NextGen Graphics i.e. Final Fantasy. There is no way that they can tell this story effectively with so many characters."
ok, now that's a cool idea. let's cross our figners for that one.
Rare Hare @ Dec 18th 2005 10:03PM
ok.. so i just saw the trailer and it actually looks pretty badass. maybe this will turn out better than i'd feared.
i still like HighDef Edition's animation idea best though.
in5ane @ Dec 18th 2005 10:03PM
I just checked, and it's not showing up in my marketplace... I'm guessing different regions get different stuff :(
hardwood2001 @ Dec 18th 2005 10:03PM
hey if you want to watch new trailers first then get an xbox360 bottom line, cause ms said so. and in5ane your clearly lying!!!
Dylan A. Nickels @ Dec 18th 2005 10:03PM
Does anybod know what music that is in the trailer? I rather dig it.
DG @ Dec 18th 2005 10:03PM
The whole Nazi Omega Red/Wolverine/Sabretooth story in the first issues of X-Men was pretty cool, but I don't know how well it'd translate into a movie (well, they've already rendered the Sabretooth character worthless and it requires waaay too much back story).
However, if they have to go the obvious route (first Days of Future Past, now Dark Phoenix), that's fine. And Kelsey Grammar does indeed look great as Beast.
the_game_master @ Dec 18th 2005 10:03PM
These movie adaptations suck!
The X-men animated series from the 90s that use to air on FOX Kids, was the only show that got it right.
LR @ Dec 18th 2005 10:03PM
I just worry that it's no longer Bryan Singer at the helm. The guy that directed X3 also made Rush Hour and Rush Hour 2. Yawn.
CV @ Dec 18th 2005 10:03PM
Not just yawn, but oh-my-god-no. Google "Brett Ratner" and see how much hate comes up. I hated him after seeing his short film on the Rush Hour DVD and seeing him so full of crap on Craig Kilborn.
Rand @ Dec 18th 2005 10:03PM
Hmmm... "3rd time's the charm"? Sounds like Joystiq didn't think much of the first 2 X-movies. I thought they both rocked! Especially the second one. It kicked all kindsa butt!!
The preview looks great, but it's easy to make a preview look good. How good the movie will actually end up being --- well, we won't know 'til it's out. (And I'm worried, too, with Singer being gone and Ratner at the helm).
#6 - Sentinels *might* be in this movie. There are lots of rumors going around that they will be in this movie, but I haven't seen any confirmation, so we'll just hafta wait and see.
Sentinels and Dark Phoenix in the same movie...Now that would be awesome beyond words! Hope it comes true! ;-)
Alan @ Dec 18th 2005 10:03PM
Rand, you forgot the rest of the quote:
"Lets hope the third times a charm with the game adaptations."
Can't speak on behalf of everyone at Joystiq, but I LOVED the first 2 X-movies! I'm hoping the games based on the films get better. As long as Ratner doesn't get involved, they just might be.
Walter Lawrence @ Dec 18th 2005 10:03PM
Juggernaut is not a mutant in the main books
i'm surprised no one said that already
He just has a magic gem that made him powerful
Rand @ Dec 18th 2005 10:03PM
Ah, whoops! My bad! Thanks for pointing that out, Alan. Guess Joystiq wasn't ripping on the first 2 movies, so all is good in the world. ;-)
I noticed the trailer was on LIVE! last Tuesday night and downloaded it and think it looks promising, but I've been stung by impressive trailers for stinky movies before, so I'll be withholding judgement 'til I've seen the movie.
I do hafta say that I'm not impressed with how Juggernaut looks in the trailer. If they're gonna have Juggy in a movie then they prolly shoulda done him with CGI to do him justice.
Bliss @ Dec 18th 2005 10:03PM
I second that request on the music. Does anybody know if that music was only for the trailer or is an actual song?
