Tim Rogers of large prime numbers and insert credit has posted over 150MB of photos and videos from the Japanese launch of the Xbox 360 for Lik-Sang. It's a must read, especially if you like long, rambling, stream of consciousness reports about video games console launches (which we do!).During the evening, Tim was approached by the president of Microsoft Japan's games division and asked what his gamertag was--he doesn't have one. Then he was asked why he was there, and he replied, "I like the idea of the Xbox 360. I like the global communication aspect. I like the design, and I like Akira Toriyama, so I want to play Blue Dragon eventually." Then he mentioned that he worked for Sony Computer Entertainment; silence ensued.
He seems hopeful for the 360 though saying, "The Xbox 360 launch here in Japan was way, way bigger than the launch for the original Xbox was. I mean, there were people with genuine interest, and we later witnessed a whole McDonald's full of people who didn't look like gamer geeks looking over their sweet packages." There's hope after all.
