"The average consumer is not going to buy a current generation title when they can instead purchase a game designed for their newest (and costly) toy."

Not necessarily true. I think the type of people this title will appeal to are not the type that by a new console even within the first year it comes out.

"The idea of bringing violence to the world of Peanuts kind of makes me uneasy, but intrigued nonetheless."

Um, there was a Snoopy Vs. The Red Baron game for the Atari 2600. So, the violence has already been in place for at least 20 years.

Probably lower development costs for what is surely to be a mediocre title at best...

I'd like this if Snoopy did the shooting-with-his-fingers thing instead of using actual guns. :3

This has revolution written all over it.

Flying those planes with a revcontroller would be amazing.

Yep, I had the old Atari game. Oh, the many hours of violence I bestowed upon poor Snoopy.

Why would playing with the Revolution controller be so amazing? It'd be like playing a racing game using Hot Wheels cars.

Does anyone remember the Snoopy vs The Red Baron game that came out for the Atari 2600? I used to love that game, played it all the time. You'd fly around on Snoopy's doghouse shooting at the baron, and he'd drop food you'd have to catch. Simple but oh so fun.

I don't know, how many PS2s were sold? 70-80 million? How many XBoxen? 20 million? How many new generation machines will sell in year one? I might be grasping at straws here, but maybe it's what 4) said, lower development costs for a tier 2 license. I'll consider it though, a fun flying game might be good.

I agree, the audience this game is aimed at isnt going to be a Next-Gener. Also take into consideration that Snoopy is timeless in Japan and will no doubt sell well there on the PS2!

They should make this a Xbox Live Arcade game. :)

Plus, isn't the fact that Snoopy regularly flew imaginary planes and was shot down in the comic strips and the cartoons violent?

That screenshot does not have Snoopy piloting his doghouse. Thus, it fails.

The comics aren't the nicest things in the world. I think Lucy has whiplash from being thrown off of a piano the fiftieth time.

Screw next gen there are millions of current gen users out there and will be for a long time.I know people who still buy games for the PSone and it's all they have.I think Sooopy will do well on Xbox and PS2.If it's released for the Gamecube it will probably play on the Revolution too.

This game just has SUCK written all over it... what kid actually knows who Snoopy is well enough to buy this stuff... only people who will buy this game is no clue parents who recognize snoopy and buy it for their poor kids. But when they get it home the kid will most likely bitch them out and the game will be returned.

I laugh everytime I hear a person complain about how some kid will be cursed with a parent buying games on a whim.

When I was a "kid" I loved all video games. I didn't know good from bad all to well. It was playing the bad games that eventually helped me shape my taste, and learn what to look for and what to avoid.

Hell, if I didn't just play random games as a kid I would never have come across Dynamite Headdy or Gunstar Super Heroes.

I talked my aunt and uncle into getting my six year old a GameCube when they wanted a PS2 because I had a feeling the GameCube would be a little more forgiving to a six year old. Did he care? Not a chance. Yeah, he got Harry Potter and Chicken Little and he's going to love them. Why? Because he gets to play video games.

Anyhoo, I think it could be neat if they kept it true to the show where he flies his dog house and be creative with him pretending to shoot some how.
