Net radio channel offers 24/7 game music scores

Out of over 200 ad-supported radio stations that AOL Radio provides free online, most are typical radio fare, but at least one of them appears to be pretty unique. Channel VideoGameScores promises "The greatest soundtracks from the greatest modern video games" including music from Final Fantasy, Halo, Castlevania, Legend of Zelda - Ocarina of Time and Metal Gear.

That's pretty cool, but it could be better. We'd much prefer to use the svelte Winamp player rather than the clunky, ad-infested pop-up that is the sole option for listening to AOL Radio unless you happen to be running the new Triton version of AIM. Thankfully, the audio stream is only occasionally interrupted by short adverts (less than two minutes per hour). Despite the adverts and the clunky player, this is (as far as we know) the only one of several Internet radio stations focused solely on video game scores. An alternate is VGamp.com, a site that appears to stream the same type of music direct to Winamp and in 128 kb/s quality. Other alternates: Planet GameCube.
