We find it interesting that the PSP is beginning to garner so many comparisons to Apple's iPod. With Sony's continued focus on the PSP's multimedia capabilities (vs. it's gaming feature set), we're sure that this is exactly the comparison they want to see.The folks over at informit.com have done a bit of analysis on the subject, pitting the mighty PSP against the ubiquitous iPod in a fight to the death. The results? PSP wins! (well, definitely at games anyway.)
Comparing design, music, movie and gaming assets, the article concludes that, "the new iPod is primarily a music device, with video thrown in as a bonus. With this description in mind, it’s no wonder that the video quality isn’t quite movie-watching material. Combine this with the fact that the PSP has redefined the concept of handheld gaming, and the winning choice is obvious. The only exception is if you’re a dedicated audiophile."
