Dear Santa, I want a Mario Kart RC car
Why bother with a remote controlled Mario and Famicom controller when you can get a remote controlled Mario in kart with an awesome Gamecube style remote? Gaming Steve brings us word of a whole line of Mario Kart themed RC cars. At internet retailer Lik-Sang $25 will net you a smaller car featuring Mario or Yoshi, while $40 will buy you a larger car featuring Mario, Yoshi, or Donkey Kong. Steve also says the smaller cars are available in NYC's Nintendo World store, perfect for last minute Holiday shopping.

They gave out the smaller RC cars at E3 last year. My wife managed to snag a Yoshi RC... probably the best swag of the show.

They're also available at Toys R Us:

I've seen them in Walmart and a few gaming stores in Canada. I love that the controler is a wavebird.

my kid has one of them. its cool looking on the shelf, but as an RC car it sucks horribly. the contrller plays an annoying tinny rendition of the theme music that gets old real fast. The steering is done by the X and Y buttons on teh controller.
i give the thing a meh/10

Rare Hare @ Dec 18th 2005 9:13PM

Jago @ Dec 18th 2005 9:13PM
I'm still buyin it...and I'm sure some of the engineers I work with will get a kick out of it too.

Yeah, these are in every EB Games store in Australia now (the larger one, with Mario, Yoshi or DK) for $120. What's cool though is it even has a 'turbo' button that you can hit periodically for a speed boost.
