Jeez. Maybe they should have delayed the launch, pumped out more units to the other countries where demand is still blistering and offered a DoA4 demo disc to people buying launch systems over there.

Problem solved. I find it hard to believe DoA4 is going to completely carry the system over there. There's no RPG titles and the power supply is as big as most Japanese domestic pets.

For now, the Japanese version of the console is still available for import thanks to the low sales, so there's a silver lining for the rest of the world.

^^^ Aren't most games/dvd's region locked and thus there would be no point to import an Xbox360 unless it's to play Japanse bought games as well?

Somebody else reported that MS is leaving it up to the publishers/developers on whether or not they want to region lock their titles. I think only Kameo and PDZero are region locked.

Im studying abroad in Japan right now, so let me just describe the scene. Microsoft has paid all the merchandisers to display 360 ads, but next to these ads is a massive stack of unsold Xbox 360s. This is in a major game retailer mind you. The demo on display may have first felt human contact when I decided to play it. Microsoft: Japan does not want your system. So sorry. You want the Japanese Market, you should have gotten sole rights to the latest Gundam SEED title played nonstop in arcades there (and liscensed by SONY), or RPGs.
